Best Telescoping Rods I Have Ever Owned
I have owned 2 x 2.2 meter and 1 x 3.0 meter rods for almost 2 years now, so I finally feel comfortable to review them. These rods have been amazing. They are definitely not stiff, and have a very sensitive tip, complimented by solid backbone in the body of the rods. I use the 3.0 meter for smaller lures, as it casts them further than the smaller rods. All have treated me very well. They do have very easily bent eyelets, so be very careful collapsing them. I use them predominantly in saltwater, and have landed several large redfish, gafftop catfish, hardheads, hybrid striped bass, ladyfish, speckled trout, bluefish, jack crevalle, mangrove snapper, a bonnethead shark, and I even hooked and jumped a tarpon. The tarpon was not lost because of the rod, but because a headshake during the second jump tossed the lure. I use these rods from a kayak and travel with them, so they have been perfect for my needs. I can use them for any type of species I choose to target, and they have not let me down. Their willowy tip helps a lot with managing larger fish without being tipped over. I have been on a quest for many years prior to this for a perfect telescoping saltwater setup, and these have met and exceeded my expectations. Pictured is the 3.0 meter fighting a roughly 30 inch redfish while the 2.2 meter drifts a shrimp behind me. If you are looking for ideal saltwater travel rods and aren't worried about them being a super heavy set up, get these.

Good larger than usual pack rod.
I have a 5’ telescoping fishing rod. I like it buts it’s more of an ultra light. I wanted something more medium weight. This fit the spec perfectly. I was a bit surprised by the overall quality that is actually quite good.

Reasonable good quality - update with some other thoughts
Giving the price and convince of telescopic, this is a great fishing pole. Only issue is the fixture of the extension of the handle was (it's a small metal ring with threads) lose on my rod. I had to glue it myself.Update: Till today, I have been using this rod for 2+ years. I believed I purchased 4-5 3m ones and 3-4 2.2m ones. And I use them quite often, at least 300 fishing trips. On the positive side: I can’t find any other telescopic rod that matches the same quality for both the functional aspects of the rod and the look and feel. As I really see the benefits of using telescopic rods for my inshore fishing trips , I keep buying repeatedly. On the negative side: I think there are some situations that I avoid using them and use my non telescopic rods. First case is surf fishing, because if the sand gets into the joints, it damages the rod quickly. Second case is if you keep casting lures, you may found the life span of the rod getting shorter as the pipes are thin and are less durable than regular rods. Two other considerations:1. Using the guide protector comes with the rod is pretty important to avoid damage2. If you get a 2.2m or 2.1m one, pair with a carbon fiber reel, the whole setup will be super lightweight and portable. Highly recommended for youth. For manufacturer: if the pipes can be more durable, that would be perfect.

Swinging way out of it's weight class
Update 8/2024: I have now bought 9 of these 😹 successfully throwing 5oz leads and a bunker chunk 60 yards w this thing, and reeled in a stingray that felt like a Honda Civic. Highly recommendUpdate 6/6/23: I continue to use these rods for uses WAY out of their weight class. I throw 1-2 oz bunker chunks plus a 4 oz pyramid about 50-70 yards easy with this thing. I've caught striper and bluefish around 30-36 inches long on it w/ no problem. I do snap them (and have snapped quite a few of them) but ~1 year of service of brutal abuse is a pretty satisfying life expectancy IMO.Living in NYC and surf fishing is tough - taking the train and ferry to the beach with full surf rods, a cooler, etc, is a big hassle. These things are great - super springy, portable, durable, and strong. I've recommended them to a bunch of friends who now have the 10' for surf fishing. I've caught some pretty massive bluefish with this thing, and even hooked a couple sharks / rays that I was certain would snap this rod, but didn't!Easily throws a 3oz weight and a bunker chunk over 150 feet, or a 2oz spoon even further. Also shout out to Mick on their team - customer service from Whistytwig is excellent.

Flimsy cheap junk :-(
First use, slowly trolling in clear water, tips broke on both poles. They literally fractured and disintegrated. Very cheaply made for a comparatively expensive pole at $80 each. Don't waste your time, don't waste your money...shop on! I contacted seller as instructed per Amazon to honor warranty, of course they ghosted me :-(

Very Courteous, Responsive, and Helpful Seller
My wife bought me this rod as a gift for trip to the Caribbean where I was planning on doing light saltwater fishing. However, within a few casts i got a quick hit from a fish a upon reeling in the tip completely broke off! Very little force was put on it and it snapped!!! It was not a matter of the eyelet sliding off. The rod broke. Since I did not use it for several months before our trip I am unable to initiate a return so I have tried to continue using it. But, after a few more uses the top piece of the rod is stuck and will not retract. Also, the during use the parts of the rod will retract unexpectedly. I had high hopes for this rod. I would like a refund but I am unable to do that at this point.UPDATE: Although I had some issues with the pole, I have to say, the seller was very courteous and responsive to my issue, and replaced the pole. I look forward to using the new poll soon. Very positive feedback for this seller.
