I had a camera system I was replacing. the previous installer had used Cat 5E cables, but had used them for an analog camera system, and cut the wires to length to reach a wall mounted power supply, which was about 3 feet from the recorder. so when I went to replace the camera system with a modern IP camera system, I had a few wires that were too short to reach the New NVR. I ad two choices, use some keystones, terminate them and use a patch cable, install a patch panel and then patch cables, or simply use some couplers.After reading some reviews, and finding these were a good price, I ordered and could not be happier. these feel super sturdy, and worked without issue at all. POE power to the cameras goes perfectly and does not degrade the signal at all.These are worth it.

I noticed a few reviews saying that these limit your speed or that the reviewer couldn't get more than 10Mbps. I'm not sure what issues they had, but these work great for me! I had to extend cables terminated in a cabinet (cables ran a part of my new house build) - I extended these to a wall mount rack (about 15 feet). These worked perfect - no errors, 1Gbps, POE. These are very durable and provide a solid connection to the RJ45 connector - no possibility of bumping and accidentally disconnecting these.If people are having issues with connection speed after using these, your issue is most likely your existing cabling. Perhaps you are extending and going beyond the recommended distance for the cable type (CAT 5). Perhaps the cables you are using or connectors are loose or causing a poor connection. I actually measured the loss through these couplers - it is very minimal - but there is some loss as with any connector or couple. So, if you are already at or beyond the recommended distance for your cabling type, this could put you over the edge.

These ethernet cable connectors are great when you need to get that ethernet cable just a few more feet but just can't reach it with one cable. I love wireless internet but I'm pretty intense with my gaming, I just don't trust wireless enough when it comes to gaming time and I've had my share of dropped signals right in the middle of that all important game moment so I have to go wired on my gaming system, no exceptions! I recently needed to move my gaming rig room and the ethernet cable I was using just didn't have enough reach to the make it to the new gaming room. I had a few extra ethernet cables lying around the house and I just didn't want to buy an entire new cable for the new setup. Luckily, I found the RJ45 Ethernet Connectors and bought a pack of em and they worked great with the old ethernet cables I had laying around, I got my wired connection extended to the new gaming setup location and was much cheaper.

I'M SATISFIED.

These are great RJ45 couplers of high quality, which are used for extending network cables that are already installed. Years ago I installed long network cables in my house from all rooms and they were all gathered in a hub room where all my network equipment are installed. It happened that I had to move the network equipment to another place in that very room, but the cables weren't long enough to reach the new spot. These RJ45 couplers saved me from needing to re-install longer network cables in the entire house, and I used them to connect the end of the current network cables in the hub room with new network cables for extension.

Nice, heavy duty coupler. I have a computer without wifi so if I leave the computer I can physically disconnect the computer from the internet to prevent a hacker from getting on to the system. I have a 3 foot cord from the computer to the desk and just keep the coupling on the desk. Since I spend 90% of my time away from the computer it should reduce the potential for a hacker gaining access substantially.

Why didn't this occur to me years ago? Saved me time and money. I believe in hard wiring devices when I can to avoid possible interference with WIFI. I changed the location of my bedroom TV. The existing cable didn't reach. Instead of buying and stringing a longer cable, I was able to use a shorter cable I already had to extend a cable I had already strung. Works great.
