Fantastic Resource for Parents
"Finger Foods for Babies and Toddlers" by Annabel Karmel is an absolute gem for any parent starting their little one on solid foods. As a first-time parent, I found the transition from purees to finger foods daunting—but this book made it so much easier. The recipes are simple, nutritious, and designed with little hands (and picky tastebuds!) in mind.Annabel’s advice is practical and reassuring, with helpful tips on weaning stages, safety, and how to introduce new textures and flavors. My toddler has loved everything we’ve tried—from the mini veggie muffins to the cheesy bites and fruity snacks. I also appreciate that many of the recipes are freezer-friendly, perfect for busy days. The book is beautifully laid out with clear instructions and lovely photos that inspire confidence. It’s more than just a cookbook—it’s a helpful guide that supports healthy habits and happy mealtimes. You can really tell it’s written by someone who understands children and parents alike.

Sadly not as good as previous books.
Sadly just not like her last ones. Some type errors, some recipes just don't work, some bits mixed up. Her "weaning made simple" is absolutely amazing and every recipe is spot on. Sadly this isn't the same.

Very informative and love the pics in the book
Finger food ideas for babies and toddlers by Annabel Karmel. This is a very well presented book and is eye-catching with the bright cover. It is daunting for some parents when it comes time to switch from bottles and semi liquid baby foods to finger foods so this book is great with its guide on when to introduce and what foods are most suitable. The book starts with all the information you need to start giving your child finger foods confidently then moves into listing vegetables and how they should be prepared for children 6-12months old. The book then goes onto fruits and proteins until we get to the recipes. The recipes clearly show age ranges and whether they are vegetarian, gluten free, egg free or dairy free which is really handy, the key is near the front of the book. The photos are nice and give you an idea of how the finished foods will look and rough size of the portions.I think this is a great book that would make a great gift for new parents as a guide to what and when to introduce finger foods.

Nice, clear book
This is a book full of great finger food ideas with clear instructions and lovely photos of the finished foods.Chapters are clear and give you exactly what you're looking for.The recipes are easy to follow and some are just obvious but the book makes you think "Of course! Why didn't I think of that".Ideal gift for a first time family.I think giving recipes and step by step instructions on how to make a sandwich is a bit much, but I'm older so we used to get shown these things, in the modern age perhaps these things are mythical alchemy :DHardback, good quality clear, concise instructional book.Good
