Great blender
Very happy, this is a great blender for price. Very pleased with the glass jug - no plastic! The lid is a little stiff to get on and off at first but has got easier with use.

Classic blender style but excellent
This is a very traditional style of blender, I can remember a similar styled one being a mainstay of my parents kitchen growing up. As someone who enjoys making their own smoothies all year round but especially in the warmer months, having a blender like this that can not only handle fruit but also ice as well with no issue what so ever is just fantastic. Not as loud as you might expect it to be, it is easy to operate and clean which is so important for a modern kitchen and the style is a great contemporary look that it will fit in well in any kitchen. I primarily use it for mixing drinks that range from ice smoothies to fruit smoothies to even making the perfect milkshake but it has such a diverse range that it can be used for. Very happy to recommend.

350 watt motor NOT 700 watt
OK, this unit is rated at 350 watts. It is NOT & will NEVER be a 700 watt unit, whether it is being operated or not. The claim it is a 700 watt motor is complete pony!!I don't know who is responsible for posting the question under the main 'Product Description' " Q: Why does the blender motor base say 350 watt? A: because the power rating is 350W, the actual maximum power during operation is 700W" . This is beyond misleading & basic physics. Like saying your 2 litre motor car engine becomes a 4 litre engine when the accelerator is pressed really hard & the car is driven really fast!Immediately tested the unit for operation, as confidence was effected. Assembled & plugged the unit in, IT FAILED TO OPERATE AT ALL ON ANY SETTING, P+1+2. Checked the fuse with the trusty multimeter, all OK. Noticed there is a safety lock feature, this unit will not operate unless the jug & base are locked in. Not sure how this safety feature works, but it appears 2 metal screws in the plastic knife assembly block align with magnetic sensors hidden beneath 4 small rubber gromits on the motor block. Reassembled with particular attention paid to locking the motor base & knife block / jug together. THE UNIT POWERED UP & ALL FUNCTIONS worked.I tested for leaks with warm water filled to the maximum level, operated the blender as if making a smoothie, then removed the jug & seal knife block & placed on a dry surface. No leaks.I will probably keep this budget appliance, as my old unit (a 400 watt Philips model from Argos) lasted nearly 15 years, & 350 watt isn't much difference in power for my needs i.e. home smoothies & protein shakes.I haven't given it a full road test yet, but the unit came well packed, no cracks in glass jug etc. The seals between the knife block & glass screw jug appear robust. The knife block is sharp. The motor isn't any noisier as my last unit. We'll see how it performs. In summary; the discrepencies in the product description, & the units failure to operate in the first instance, introduced a significant lack of confidence in my purchase & prospect of it's operational longevity. Definitely read the instructions regards operation, there are a few directions on temperatures of liquid the jug can tolerate, & amount of time the motor can operate before it must be rested from over-heating (which seem pretty thin, especially for those who like to make complex smoothies & have the liquid very very smoothe & fine). Hope that helps.Priced at £42.49 on Amazon, purchase at £32.79 with Amazon limited time offer.
