A new more affordable Flash from Canon!
I'm a long-time Canon user, and though my R-series cameras can do pretty well in low light, there are still some things you can do with a flash that can't be achieved without one. My son and I tend to share equipment, and he has a newer Canon R-10 camera that does not have a normal hot shoe. This flash has one of the new hot shoes and works with my R6 Mark 2 as well. This is the baby version of the ELT-5, which is a really great flash. I like how it's compact and can use normal AA rechargeable batteries instead of the new LP-EL batteries, which cost an arm and a leg.Because of the new modern connector, it also fully integrates with the camera, and the primary functionality can be accessed through the camera's menu system. This makes it much more intuitive to set up, unlike the older E-TTL lenses such as the 430 or 680.So, if you have one of the new Canon Camera R-series with one of the modern hotshoes and don't need something with a really strong light source, this is a great starter flash that won't break the bank while providing most of the features of its stronger siblings.

Light, compact flash; functions well. (camera must have new multi-function shoe!)
Very happy with this Speedlite. Caution: it *only* works with Canon cameras with the new multi-function shoe. This is clearly spelled out in the description, so shouldn't be an issue. The flash appears to be solidly built, and is light and compact. I didn't use any of its abilities to link with other flashes, so I can't comment on them; I just use it as a stand-alone flash for my R50, R10, R8 and R6 Mark II.

Highest quality flash gun. We don’t always need the most powerful flash on the market. Honestly, this thing is way more powerful than I’ll ever need. I will be extensively used portraits. Ordering another two soon

Be warned. You will more than likely receive a used item with no box just a soft case. No paperwork no instructions no canon warrantee. It had batteries already in the item as well. Paid for a new item. Not what I got 🙃
