Thiis a spectacular book with the mystical origins of Vedic knowledge and other untold stories behind each verse of Sri Suktam. Written in the masterful, inimitable style of Om Swami, he continues to reveal the secrets of sadhana. Prepare to be uplifted, inspired, and forever transformed by the radiant wisdom contained within these pages.I was aware about meaning of each verse of Sri Suktam and but not story behind it and sub mantra’s in each verse .Also that how long it took to invoke all these 16 verse together and it’s a combined effort by so many dietie and Guru’s.One being our Ved Vyas who he consolidated the Vedas, documented the 18 Puranas, Brahma Sutras, Srimad Bhagavatam, and even Devi Bhagavatam. Because he was an ardent and first true worshiper in human form of Sri Vidya, he also created an amazing sadhana with Sri Suktam.A public holiday, however, was declared in his honor. The festival of Guru Purnima is celebrated in his memory. When the Pandavas became kings, they declared that the full moon of the lunar month of Ashada (that usually falls in July) would be known as Guru Purnima or Vyasa Purnima, and it would be a national holiday. They declared that anything earned on that day would not be taxed. This was woven into the political system of India at the time. So this how and why Guru Purnima which is today is celebrated which I read in this book only .The way Om Swami’ji explain each story about verse is taking us go back to the time of it and after his book Kundalini this has made powerful impact on me !

This book is a boon to many1. Spiritual seekers who have faith in God. This book will strengthens their faith to do more Sadhana.2. Spiritual seekers who are in a 'cat on the wall situation' , whether God's and sages are real or not. This book will instill faith and make them fall in love with the Divine.3. Anthropologist and evolutionary biologist might take a que or two regarding the various species and their connection with homo sapiens dating back to 2 million years which is mentioned in the first chapter. I don't know if any other well correlated document was ever written!4. Historians who consider the ancient vedas and other texts as purely mythological. The myth is busted with this book which lucidity explains the way and the life of Neanderthals and other species.[ when I reread the ancient Vishnu purana with the context given in 'The Legend of the Godess ' it sheds a totally different light and perspective and how it might not be a mythology but history as it unfolded].5. Astrophysicist can take a que or two where it is mentioned that time is not linear as it is understood in today's day and age but otherwise.And above all these, it is the story behind the emergence of Mother Divine from churning the ocean, the story behind each mantra, how humanity benefits in an evolutionary way with material wealth and opulence with her benediction is simply awesome.If time is not linear, then is it cyclical? Well if you look at the watch or the sun and the solar system it looks cyclical. Similarily the description from the vedas, various yugas and manvantara being cyclical might be valid from a cosmological point of view. But, how to verify it? A scientific verification might be yet unavailable due to infancy of science and technology but a scientific(spiritual) individual experience might be possible. But how?I started with a mantra from the book, as I did the chanting and increased the time, I found something unique. Chanting for half hour everyday for a week or so I realised that half hour of deep mantra chanting felt like ten minutes. How's it possible? When one gets synced with the mantra or due to concentration, the mind stops and when that happens time becomes irrelevant, I guess!?! What to say of Om Swami who can sit in one posture without any movement for 3 days.If one reads his books, 'A Million thoughts' , 'Kundalini' etc one can have an inkling of the conviction with which Om Swami writes about the hidden powers of the soul when the mind is disengaged from the senses.Om Swami is not an ordinary monk who just explains the Vedic scriptures. He is an adept in meditation, he has stopped his heart from beating while being awake and concious. He has walked the path to enlightenment and seen first hand the truth behind the Vedic scriptures and the experiences one can have with focus and concentrated mind.This book is not a theory of what might have transpired but the truth as it happened. It's only possible when he has seen the past in his mind's eye in a superconcious state in meditation. It's impossible otherwise.This book is a gift to mankind, a marvel. He shows at the last chapter different methods to do this Sadhana by which one can receive the grace of The Divine Mother itself.What more can any human ask for, when the road leading to the doors of vaikuntha is well paved with pointers and signboards. He has made the impossible and unthinkable possible . He has given in the 'The Legend of the Godess' how a homo sapien can become immortal!!! Yes, believe it or not this is the book of immortality!!!The book mentions about Sage Bhrigu's astral travel. In Sadhvi Ji's book, 'Om Swami as we know him' She mentions about how Om Swami met her in astral travel. This shows and proves what happened millions of years ago is possible even today with mind control and grace!!!The dialogue between Shiva and Vishnu in various chapters is simply awesome. It's as if it's in real time and how the God's and men lived in Co existence.I would give a Noble price and all the other accolades available in this world to Om Swami not just for literature but also for sharing the secrets of immortality. Having reached the doors of liberation, he could have silently kept it all to himself but with his love and benevolence he has shared it with the whole world for the present as well as for the all the future generation to come. He has shown how homo sapiens can Co exist in a peaceful way with mutual respect and make this world a better place to live in!!!Volumes and volumes can be written on each and every chapter of this book.
