Don't believe any negative reviews! These are awesome!!!
Totally worth it for the price! Before buying anything off of Amazon, I'll always read the reviews, and a few of the bad ones for this stuck out too me... Don't worry about them ripping apart while 'carefully pulling them apart';like the directions state.Does it take too long to do so? Sure. But you're not paying someone else to do this cause you're broke. So take the time to do it right when doing it yourself.A few did have the 'smushed corner' problem, to which I tried the dryer method others suggested. That didn't work. So I figured out you could carefully pinch the sides of said corner, and manually spread it apart. Then let them sit a day or so to fully regain their form.I am now buying more of these to use elsewhere since these did the job I needed them to! (Knocked off about 10 dB's from my kids trumpet playing :-) )

Good sound dampening and accoustics
Giving this a 4/5 purely because of the randomness of the foam pieces coming deformed and some needing a bit of time and "love".I purchased three 24 packs to cover a small room I use as an office and as a recording studio, I chose these because I record at night when my toddler who shares a wall with my office is trying to sleep but also to help with acoustics in the room... the weak spots in a room are always going to be the door and a seam on the walls where it meets the ceiling so right outside the office/studio the sound dampening isnt that good. Catty corner in the bedroom some sound could be heard but not much and not clearly(thats a win) and same in my daughters room that shares a wall I covered in these panels.. inside the room the acoustics are excellent and very very little outside sound gets in if any (it's kind of eerie to be honest) - out of 72 panels 5-6 needed a bit of time hanging out in a hot room and also a bit of gentle pulling to get to decompress- didn't have any panels that didn't eventually come to life with most of them doing so instantly after unpackaging...I reccomend opening a window while installing these since compacted foam just has a weird smell but it eventually dissipates..overall I'm not sound engineer but these look good and perform well for the price

Great product
After reading several of the reviews that mentioned difficulty with this product, I almost passed. But am glad I didn't. If you take your time, and follow the directions, it's really not that hard. I could do 4 panels' stickers in just under 5 minutes. Then you wash the walls, and you stick them up.Do they smell? They smell like compressed foam rubber that's just been released after God knows how long, so yeah, initially they have a slight, odor, but it dissipated in a few days, and I have zero ventilation in my studio. Not an issue whatsoever, for me.As for the vacuum packaging and all the difficulties I read about the panels not popping out fully formed? If that's what you expect, don't buy this. If you are an impatient person who likes to roughly tear instead of gently open, do not buy this.Take your time. Follow the directions. Read the comments. Don't hurry. If you hurry, you will tear the product. So don't hurry. Soak them. Dry them. Be gentle with them. I bought, I think it was the 36 pack, and all but 3 panels are perfect. The three that aren't perfect, are so slightly pinched on a small part of one end, you can't really tell. I stuck them on the ceiling. They look like the others, but more importantly they do a great job sonicly. These panels work well, they absorb sound well, definitely won't break the bank, and look pretty sharp to boot.

Not think foam as advertised
This panel was recommended for the ceiling. Perhaps that application may work, but for me this foam was so paper thin. They look thick as Goodyear tires do in the photos, but in reality they are half an inch thick. The foam has ridges that make it look much thicker but that's an illusion. The foam is nice in appearance, but that's about it. It seemed futile to try to use this foam in a bare room with no acoustic treatment. If your room needs a little touch up here and there then perhaps these may work. Otherwise, go for something else as you will be disappointed.

Works very well
This stuff is fantastic at quieting down loud noises. With a whole room insulated, I've reduced the noise in a second room by 35dB!
