Good for tying practice.
The suction cups are not the greatest quality, however, it is great to learn how to tie suture. It makes it easy to see where you have messed up. You can tell easily if you have created a proper knot. It did its job.

Fragile plastic, but still a useful product
The plastic in this product is fragile, and if you are not careful, you may well break it. But that is the only flaw that I can see. The cord itself is slick enough to prevent many knots from binding, so they are easy to untie. There is a lot of it, which is good. And it helps to have the cords in different colors: using different colors for different sides of the cord makes learning how to tie knots much easier.Others complain about the suction cups. They haven't been a problem for me, and I am using them on a wood desk.Another reviewer writes that "[T]he strings come knotted together under the base. Well the knot is so big that you cannot press down the suction cups." This hasn't been my experience. Perhaps the knot under the base limits suction a tiny bit—but again, the suction is sufficient for me, even on a wooden desk.If they would use stiffer, less fragile plastic, I would give this product five stars.

Great for practicing hand tying
This is a great little device to practice hand tying. Great for medical students, surgical residents, or anyone who is assisting in an operating room. The suction is pretty powerful and I've been able to help a lot of people learn to hand tie with this little device. Would highly recommend to anyone trying to improve their hand skills.

The material feels high quality, the strings feel really good and easy to unknot. Such a simple design yet so good for learning. recommended.

We'll see...
I picked this up for my daughter who's currently enrolled in a nursing program. She wasn't too excited about it and didn't necessarily see the utility of it. I like the concept of the device, and could possibly use it for practicing other types of knot tying.
