Great to replace crappy operator modems
It was a present for mate who hated Vodafone modem. The installation was easy but you need to follow a step by step process. This is modem/router, so we completely removed the Vodafone modem and replaced with this super fast and robust one. Now the house has a solid WiFi connection everywhere!

Works well and has good software for those who like to tweak
This item works well out of the box. Beware however that this is the EU version (or at least the one I received was) which meant that it came with a European PSU with no UK adapter. This could have been a pain if I hadn't happened to have an adapter in the house. It's freed up some space and the combined modem/router makes for a neater install.I had no problem at all connecting to my ISP which was included in the list of preconfigured ISPs.Good price for a device that appears to work well. Time will tell!

Buy an adaptor for UK use
Simple to set up - more so than the BT Home Hub sat nearby (and indeed the last TP Link which lost all connection) . Surprised by lack of UK plug or adaptor although note the parenthesis on the item info. It's now plugged into an adaptor. Sadly the fault on the last one was in the plug/connection so I couldn't reuse that one. The reference to I is misleading ... as I asked my go-to IT expert to fit for me. Remember to change your settings on your mobile phones too. Looks pretty much like my aged last one so pretty comfortable with it all. Arrived really quickly and a decent price. However, BT will soon scrap our land line and transfer us to Digital Voice and says we must plug traditional phone into router. Their Smart Hub 2 router only. Typical. And each handset will require an adaptor. We have 3 phones, one router, The router shares the phone connection. I'm now baffled. Less impressed than I was as it seems to lose connectivity more than the old TP Link.

Doesnt explain how to get it working enough it took me 2hrs
Not easy to set up you have to go through the settings by the app and connect with internet that way but got there in the end you just have to persist to get it to work

Great router. I bought one today from Curry's (I know, not Amazon, but hey I needed it same day, and the 15 postage is a pain) and it works great. The 5 GHz is bonk, though, don't even try it. A range of four metres or less for it to work.

Parental controls don't work
Wifi strength not noticeably better than free Plusnet router. 5ghz performance is worse than 2.4ghzParental controls - USELESS!!! At best blocking access to websites (in our case stopping kids watching youtube when they should be doing homework during lockdown) was unreliable. Most of the time, it just didn't work. TPlink support suggested checking firmware, which was up to date, and rebooting the router, which made no difference. Then my post disappeared from their support forum.Half the reason we bought this was for built in parental controls and that A WASTE OF MONEY.
