Q: does support a small water pump? I already have a similar one in my water pump, but this one,in the description says it doesn't support it, why?

You have to start the motor at 100% and then back it down to the desired RPM. I am running a one horsepower buffer on mine and you can definitely tell when you put too much pressure on it that the motor wants to stall. I would think a water pump would take a lot of amps and not like being slowed down.
