http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01BGTKCH4?ref_=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_0I've been living with the Realmax for a week now and I have a good feel for how practical a Bluetooth device this is. As a baseline for this review I'm using the Realmax in conjunction with a Pebble smartwatch and an Iphone4s.Bluetooth Pairing:This is painless, just insert the Realmax into your car 12v power point and turn on the cars' power. Then enable Bluetooth on your phone and select the detected device from the list for pairing. For IPhone users out there I've had no issue with pairing the Realmax and a smartphone (Pebble) at the same time. The communication between the IPhone and Pebble is unaffected. The Pebble does not have sound so I cannot comment on how sound would be routed between a Realmax and a sound enabled smartphone.Radio Pairing:This too is painless, this is as simple as the supplier has stated! You press the M button on the Realmax, you then see the current frequency displayed on the Realmax LCD display. Using the << >> buttons you select a frequency that suits you and your area, the last frequency selected is the one that is AutoSaved to the Realmax. If you are able to save radio stations on a car radio then select a free station on your radio, you will then tune that station to the frequency of the Realmax, you’re done, it’s that simple. *note - don't forget to save/store the car radio station otherwise it will be lost and have to tune your car radio to the Realmax over again.Using the Realmax:I have the Realmax frequency stored in my cars' radio station 6. I have my favourite radio station stored in radio station 1, to switch between the two I press the relevant car radio station number. I do leave my Realmax in my car, it’s permanently plugged in as the 12v power is cut when I take my car key out of the ignition. When I turn on the car engine the Realmax powers up and informs me Bluetooth is ready for paring. As my IPhone is already paired with the Realmax and after about 2 seconds the Realmax informs me it's paired. *note - It may sound obvious but to hear sound at this point you need to be tuned into the frequency of the Realmax (for me this is selecting stored radio station 6).This is where the fun begins, if I want to listen to the CD or the radio in my car I would select the required option, now, if I want to listen to my IPhone I select radio and stored station 6. Realmax will now play music from my IPhone through the car sound system. As a standard in car phone kit Realmax can answer a call by pressing the round button on the Realmax, you can also redial the last number dialled by a double press of the same round button and you can, to an extent, adjust volume using the same button. Regarding my setup the ‘value add’ comes from when you integrate Realmax, using the Realmax in conjunction with Siri voice command and a smart phone you get a true hands free car experience.Sound Quality:The main issue you will have in the setup of the Realmax is finding the right radio frequency for you and your area, get this wrong and radio interference will distort the sound, you will get real radio station fade and crackle sounds. Get the right frequency and the sound is great, it took me a few goes to get this nailed on but now I'm there the sound reproduction is as good as the original. This will be the same impact whether it’s music playback or a phone call.As a standard car phone through Realmax I can hear the caller through my car sound system just fine, loud and clear (subject to the frequency comment above) and I can adjust the call volume using the car radio volume controls. The Mic works surprisingly well, too. Realmax is much better than the Bluetooth kit I had previously and it’s as good as my wifes' built in car phone.Build and service quality:The Realmax product itself seems to be built to a good standard, it seems robust enough. I’ve only had the product a week so I cannot say more than that at this point, time will tell! Delivery was quick, the packaging was fit for purpose and the product description was not misleading from my perspective, it descried the product well.

Great little device
Initially was disappointed with this as it seemed to be loose in the cig lighter in my Astra Estate, so it kept cutting out. I was going to send it back but then tried it in our other vehicle ( Shogun) and is fits brilliantly and works really well. Put music on a USB stick, plugged it in and the quality of sound is great. Good little device for the price. May get a different type for the Astra. It links with the phone easily, but put the music on USB so I didn't drain my phone battery by playing music.

Fantastic device! Saved me £90+.
I don't normally do reviews but I am so impressed with this that I felt compelled to write one. My car aerial broke and I was facing a £100 or more bill to repair/replace it. I saw this and decided to give it a go. I am so glad I did. Via my iphone and this device I listen to the radio, use SAT nav and receive calls through the car speakers without having to touch my phone (except initially turning the radio on before I start my journey), thereby not breaking the law. It is so easy to set up and the sound is great. This does far more than my car aerial ever did and has saved me £90 in the process. Brilliant!! P.S by plugging my i phone into the charger I can use 'Hey Siri' to change the radio station or play music on my phone - again without touching the phone.

Cheap way to play mp3 via car radio.
I needed a cheap way to play MP3 via car stereo and didn't want to spend loads on a device todo so. I ordered this item and well it's cheap as can tell but does it job ok. The remote is so cheap and didn't work and pointless junk to me. Sound is not bad as it tunes to a empty frequency on your fm radio in car and plays well. Not tried using phone to make calls yet as no need.

Good idea, doesn't really work well
Not a great product, is a good idea but not well executed. The Bluetooth function works with tuning it into your car's radio, but it has such a background fuzzy noise that ruins the music. The AUX works and provides a much better sound, but you can't change song using it (and you can't change song using the car's stereo as that changes radio station). Also, I paid more for delivery to get it sooner as I wanted it for a particular journey, despite saying that it is expected to arrive by this date it didn't. When it did arrive the box was fairly battered, and may well have not been new.Overall, I am disappointed with this product and the service provided.

Real max - great product!! *****!!
Received today much earlier than expected. Sat and read instructions for 2 minutes, very user friendly. Went out to car and plugged in as per instructions. Was up and running before I knew it. Was bit cynical as had FM transmitter a few years ago. These newer models are nothing like older models. Crystal clear and once set up, it kicks in again without any hassle!! For price this is an amazing bit of kit and remote control is just another added bonus that u can use as u see fit.....my daughter now likes to have control over music from the back of car...as I found out today!! Digital display is great addition.....all in all an easy rating to give!! Well worth price.

It's not as great as all the other reviews are making it out ...
Not sure where all the other positive reviews came from. The fm transmitter is okay. It's not as great as all the other reviews are making it out to be. Sound quality is good, bluetooth quality is really not good at all, especially calls - quality on the other end is not usable most of the time. Sometimes when I switch it on, it makes a loud whistling noise, and I have to unplug and plug in again multiple times until it starts up normally. I see another reviewer also mention this problem. Otherwise, it works fine. But if you're looking for something with bluetooth, I'd look elsewhere. I am thinking of returning for a refund.
