This has been a total lifesaver in our home! This gate is taller than my toddler’s latest climbing ambitions, keeping him safely away from the forbidden kitchen area—aka the land of knives and other pointy things. 🗡️Installation was straightforward, and once it was up, it felt like we’d built a fortress around our kitchen. The easy-close feature is fantastic; I can open it one-handed while balancing a toddler on my hip and a coffee on the other—now that’s multitasking! ☕👶I have to admit, the first time our little one tried to scale the gate, I had a moment of panic. But this gate stood strong like a security guard at a VIP event. It’s sturdy enough to withstand his best attempts to break in, and I have to hand it to him—he’s persistent!While it does the job perfectly, I occasionally wish it came with a “secret passcode” feature for adults to access the kitchen without drama. You know, something like, “Open Sesame” or a secret handshake! 🤝Overall, if you’re looking to create a safe zone while keeping your curious explorer away from kitchen hazards, I highly recommend the Safety 1st Easy Close Extra Tall Gate. I needed a gate to contain my loveable but mischievous and destructive growing puppy. Imo, a baby gate seemed a good idea as it can easily be moved from one doorway/stairs to another and is sturdy.I chose this one as its minimum width starts at 73cm to 80cm max. (most start at76cm)- ideal for some of my doorways. And it's height is good at 94cm to contain my growing devil dog for the time being.The supplied manual is well illustrated but the text is all in French. The frame is well constructed and suitable for my purpose. When fitting the frame the frame nearest the locking mechanism has to be bent in to fit flush against the frame then fine adjusted with the 4 sets of supplied adjusters.Fitting is straightforward enough and easier than it soundsThe two star washers supplied fit inside the top two adjuster spindles to aid tightening.For the price paid it's fair product and only only let down by the locking mechanism which is not particularly smooth in operation - requiring the top button to be held forward with thumb whilst closing the trigger underneath to operate the plastic latch. After a little practice however this mechanism works well enough albeit slightly notchy!

Brilliant product, if you have a dog or an athletic child. READ INSTRUCTIONS SLOWLY. Easy to install, suggest using a tape measure following the instructions. I bought the rectangular cussion blocks for more surface area to cover, works a treat. Finished product is quite strong on design, as there are two locking/fixing points to keep the gate closed/locked. First class service/first class product. All items needed for fixing are included. Though you can use other pads to hold the gate that are twice the surface area for a little extra cost on the same web site. All in all 10/10, well done guys.

A great gate for dogs, we bought this as it is higher than standard ones and rh bonus of it swings both ways and doesn't need any other attachments to fix it. 5 star product

This baby gate is so easy to fit and doesn’t need any drilling either so your doors and walls don’t get ruined. It fits by extremely strong suction which I wasn’t confident about but it is amazing! Mine is to keep my two dogs in the kitchen, one of which is a standard daschund which are known for their strength. It withstands him easily and hasn’t budged! It has a two handed opening operation but can be closed one handed. It’s tall which is a must have if it’s for keeping dogs at bay to prevent them jumping over. I highly recommend this baby gate.

We got this as a replacement for one which broke after approx. 10 months of use. This one started off great, we have it to stop kids/dogs getting in/out of the kitchen. It has (after a few months use) started to fail. The trigger to unlock the gate was starting to stick and becoming increasingly difficult to open...So...throwing caution to the wind- it's been modified, against the manufacturer's recommendation. What was that dying sound in the distance, you ask? Don't worry, that was just my warranty. I think, as a family, we expect too much from stair gates, this one get's opened/slammed shut (Nice feature, but not in our case, I think this shortened it's life significantly.) many, many times each day. Not only that, the puny fingers of my underlings have most certainly weakened the mechanism, and us "grown up" oafs with our size 11's have kicked it accidentally on a number of occasions, again shortening it's life. With our small modification, I'd expect it to last another year or so before we have to take it out back and put it out of it's misery.I've given it 3 stars, as it is a good product, the slam shut feature is nice and when it comes to durability - perhaps we're overusing it...and a little heavy handed. Might be ok for someone with a baby, or one dog, not a kitchen door with heavier traffic than the A23 at 8:30 on a Monday morning.
