Power Query for Power BI and Excel

This book delivers on its promise to introduce the basics and then dig deeper to reveal the awesomeness that is Power Query.I found it a very comfortable end-to-end read as the chapters are logically sequenced and well peppered with explanations, screenshots and useful tips. The last chapter titled "Power Query Recipes" was a satisfying finale.As the author points out, Power Query is still evolving and things have changed slightly since the book's not-so-long-ago release. However, I didn't think that the book was out of date, as the fundamentals, features and capabilities of the add-in, including the M language, haven't changed dramatically.I highly recommend this book for those looking to learn what Power Query can do to drive their Excel solutions to a new, higher level.

Very good book, can be used as manual or as learning tool. Only lacks simple overview for quick reference.

Exactly as described

Very good read. It is clear, simplistic, and with plenty of examples to follow along.

Just note it is for an early version of PQ and Excel. In some ways good as made me work to find equivalent process to make steps happen. The Web practice session no longer have working links (things have changed since 2014). Maybe it would be good idea for authors to have a static practice web page to work with. Or other database types.

Great book. I'm still learning M and Power Query but couldn't have gotten as far without this book.

An extremely well worthwhile read, makes learning M much more fun and less intimidating than the language reference.

This book provides a great overview of PowerQuery! As a beginner, I learned lots of useful information and techniques and I also now better understand Power Query in the context of how it fits in with other Power BI and Excel tools.
