POLARITY WARNING A/B are not standard RS485
the product works fine. I added my device to the rs485 bus and without installing drivers, was able to read data from /dev/ttyUSB0All is good, but look at the product specs.. it does not follow the RS485 convention of A- and B+The labels are only A and B but in this case + is connected to A.I saw this in another review before I connected this to my 485 bus, but I'm adding this review to make sure it gets seen by others too.

EIA/TIA RS-485 standard still not adhered to
OK, we know that the A+ and B- labeling on the prior revision of this product was incorrect and that the A and B should have been swapped to match the electrical designation standard from EIA/TIA RX-485. Did the manufacturer remove the A and B and just leave the correct + and - ? NO. They doubled down on st up id and removed the standard polarity designations and kept the wrong A and B labelling on the wrong pins! Darwin award winner!!!

Works well for Modbus-RTU control.
I got this to add digital control for speed on a HuanYang VFD controller and Mach 3, it was easy peasy! Works well without a hiccup!

A/B Labels Don't Follow Standard Convention
Underwhelmed with backwards terminal labels. Convention is that A is (-). Not on this device.Also changing port address seemed to require unplugging/re-plugging in converter. This could be a Windows issue but I'm not convinced. I'm usually a 5-star reviewer. This is functional but "meh".

I've tried several of these. About 50% dead on arrival. More failed after a short time. Look for another option.

This adapter actually works, despite many similar ones that were designed to not work
This adapter actually works. I have a half-duplex RS485 sensor and it works with 5V so the 5V connection on the adapter is really convenient. I've bought a few other half-duplex RS485 USB adapters that didn't work. Simply designed wrong. I mean, how hard can this be? A couple of ICs and a few resistors and caps. So this product may have been designed by someone who is competent.
