Good for amateur radio programming usage
I have had this cable already in the past but was unable to find it after a recent move. As I needed to make some changes to the programming of two of my radios (Icom ID-880, Yeasu FT-8600) that require serial cables I bought this again. I will likely find the other cable in the future this will give me two, one for the home and one to keep in the car. This cable also works well for use with Cisco Console cables. I have used this with both MacOS, and Windows 11 environments. With a FTDI chip it is likely it works with Linux and other OS' without issue.

Worked perfectly out of the box on Win 11
I had been screwing around for days trying to make Ham Radio Delux work on my old FT897 and a new MiniS Win 11 mini-PC using my old Prolific cable. The old cable never connected properly and there were driver and Com port problems.Based on its description of working with Win 11, I ordered this new cable. It arrived about 24 hours later, nicely boxed. I did not use the included CD, since it automatically downloaded the proper drivers. In 5 minutes or less (once I had set the baud rate to 4800) all was running perfectly! I should have gone this route in the first place. The diagnostic lights are an added bonus. I'm very pleased.

Worked well
Nice to find a serial adapter with a little extra length. Working out very well.

Nice. Easy to use and install with Win 7/8/10
Nice. This usb cable will come with FTDI chip which seems to have a better support rather than the Prolific chip (VCP/D2XX). USB device is fully compatible with Windows 7-x86-x64 (note that WHQL driver here is not the latest). You will have to download and install the latest driver form FTDI VCP driver home page. Drivers for Windows 10 (Windows WHQL 10x86-64 driver) is FTDI latest release when installed by OS automatically. USB VCP driver works pretty well by configuring a COM port. Build Quality of this device is good.

Easy setup, works as expected.
There is no setup at all. It worked out of the box both on Linux and MacOS. The cable is nice and long and the build quality solid. Even comes with a CD though I did not check what is on it.

Works with NCE Power Pro
The cable works with my club's NCE Power Pro and it's ancient serial port connection to run WiThrottle. It even has blinking LEDs which are both useful for troubleshooting and sort of entertaining when you roll the throttle wheel on a UWT and see the deluge of serial commands coming from JMRI. I used FTDI drivers and had no issues with the serial cable on a M1 Mac. JMRI was a nightmare to get up and running on this machine, but that's another story.

Works great with a new computer!
Purchased this to allow WinSen to control an old gate system, and it works great with a brand new computer controlling the dinosaur-old gate system. It's been running for a while now (more than a few months, I think) and I haven't heard any complaints. The old RadioShack adapter my client was using had barely-functioning drivers for Windows 10; when we built them a new computer, the old adapter stopped working entirely. We swapped the old adapter out for this one and it works great.
