I bought this radio to be a dual bander for amateur radio. Opening this option up is as easy as entering a code on the microphone. The reason I wanted this particular one was for the programming port in front. Extremely CHIRPable. Speaker has very good output. Perfect for the Prius!

The radio performs the basic functions outlined in the description with the exception that the output power is listed as either 15 or 5 watts in the manual. I would have given it a higher rating but the included CD programming software and a downloaded copy from the QYT website both have programming errors that prevent them from loading or running on any of my personal computers. Be advised some of the functions and parameters of this radio's operation can only be changed or enabled using the software. Also the PL 2303 chip inside the programming cable is either faulty or has been corrupted.

I am licensed for GMRS,don't like the blocking some of the channels.

Fits perfectly in my 2004 Yukon shelf without any modification. Power is great with antenna. Perfect for off-road adventurers or when SHTF. Be prepaRED for 2024.

I have no complaints and all the thumbs up. Powerful enough for overlanding.

The instructions are junk, they do not tell you how to install ctcss codes properly. Every time I tried they would not stay installed. Going return the radio tomorrow and buy a Wouuxn
