Great little machine

The funnest computer build I have done so far and coolest pi format in my opinion.

An awesome Raspberry Pi 400 kit.

I've been a Raspberry Pi (RPi) user for several years. I work at a public library in the IT department. Several years ago I was asked to use some RPi 3 units to create digital signage for advertising upcoming programs. I quickly came to like the RPi a lot for many things.I pre-ordered a 4B back when they were first announced, and I fell in love with it instantly when it arrived. What wasn't to love? It was considerably faster. It had more memory, true USB 3.0 and gigabit ethernet and dual full 30fps 4k video. I was asked at work if it was possible to have the digital signs play video, and I told them that if they'd let me replace the existing RPi 3s with RPi 4s, sure. They've been working great.Last year I was tasked with finding a suitable replacement for our catalog kiosk terminals. The old ones were about 8 years old and in need of replacing. My mind instantly went to the Raspberry Pi 4. I used the spare one I had on hand to start setting up a prototype to see how difficult it would be to do what it needed to. I got it set up within a couple of days, then refining the security on it over the course of a couple weeks. Once I had it working as I wanted, I took it to the boss to get approval to get enough to replace the old computers.I was told to send the link here on Amazon to the purchaser. As I was looking for the best price, I found this, the RPi 400. I was over the moon. Here was a kit, ready made, with not only everything I needed except the monitor, but the RPi was built into the keyboard! This makes the desk of each kiosk even cleaner. The performance is fantastic. The CPU runs even faster than in the 4 because the thermal management of the 400 is integrated and there is so much more room for it. This makes the RPi 400 run far cooler, and therefore faster than the RPi 4 with heat sinks and a fan. It has almost all the same ports of the 4, with the exclusions of one USB 2.0 port (taken internally by the keyboard), the special small screen connector, and the camera connector. It has 1 USB 2.0 port, which I use for the mouse. It has 2 USB 3.0 ports, the same 40-pin GPIO port, the USB-C power connector and twin micro-HDMI ports, just like the RPi 4B. This kit comes with everything you need to get up and running except a monitor (a TV works for this if you need), even the OS comes preinstalled on a micro-SD card. For the price, you can't find a better system. My only complaint is that the keyboard is like that of a laptop. This isn't a problem on my own unit at home (I have one RPi 400 that I use for experimenting with), but at the library this has proven to be less than ideal in the children's department. I've had one get a couple of keys ripped by over-exuberant little kids.Bottom line: The Raspberry Pi 400 is a great little computer. If you have multiple kids in school that need a computer to write papers and do research on the internet with, this is a great option to give each one.

It's a Pi400

Was everything I expected it to be. Basic Linux OS learning tool (for me). The typing experience isn't bad at all, very similar to a laptop keyboard board. Upon pricing a Pi4 +keyboard +power cord +mouse +monitor, the Pi400 came with everything, and ability to just plug into HDMI ports on my TV and (assuming) most HDMI ports on any display. Functional for the intention, but not a top of the line super computer.

Rpi 400: The thinkers/tinkerers gift.

I didn't feel it necessary to take a picture of the rpi 400. Google it, or look at amazon for that.Don't buy this for the purpose of a standalone pc.. just don't. There are literally dozens better options for standard use. That being said, rpis are transformers in disguise! Are you, or is the person you are buying this for a total Geek? Yes? You are looking at the right item! There is literally too much to do on this all in one 100$ machine.Want to retro game? Rpi can do it.Want to play with Linux? Rpi can do it.Want to build a Nas? Rpi can do it.Want to host a vpserver? Rpi can do it.Want to run kodi, and watch TV for free?If you want to try it on a budget then more then likely the rpi can do it!Just because it can, doesn't mean it should or that it's excellent at doing it. But, it can!Go have fun!Tinker, learn, and develop technical skill.Let me know if this helped you! <3

I love this device

I got this out of curiosity. It comes as a single keyboard with a mouse, PiOS loaded in, and a Pi4 board. It also comes with a specialized HDMI cable, and power supply. It is perfect for gentle web browsing and email. I got it to work with my OneDrive cloud files, and do some basic spreadsheet work and writing. I also attached a USB hard drive I had lying around. It is great for playing my music from the Hard Drive. I wouldn't stream video from it (a bit choppy) but as a barebones simple daily use computer it rocks. The PiOS is very clean and easy to use. I used a very HD monitor initially, but now I use an old TV with HDMI input. So I have sound audio and screen covered. This is more than a machine for enthusiast to tinker with. It is NOT a gaming machine and has moderate specs, but if all you want is web browsing, email and some basic document writing ability this is for you. Works out of the box, Good price as well.

Raspberry Pi 400 is fun and makes a good Amiberry Amiga emulation platform

(NB: for some reason as I write this, the product photo is of a generic Apple Lightning cable. This review is for the Raspberry Pi 400 all-in-one computer. I don't know if it's a glitch in Amazon's system or something more nefarious...)I bought this to play around on and experiment with. I've successfully installed all kinds of OSes on it; it's currently running an Amiberry (UAE Amiga emulator) stack. Because the storage is a microSD card, it's super easy to switch to a different OS - just pop the SD card out from its socket on the back face of the computer, pop a new one in, and off you go.The build quality is great, especially for the price. It connects to my home network via wifi or ethernet without issue. For the price I'd highly recommend this as a second computer for experimenting (with OSes or hardware) or for the children.
