Weather-sealed electronics. Works reliably outside!
I've purchased several of these for outdoor use. I had some cameras that were approved outdoor use, but their power supplies were not. I was able to find outdoor garden light power supplies that had a voltage that was a little too high. But those voltages were within the range for this product, making them a perfect solution! The electronics for this device are sealed in what I think to be epoxy. There's is no way that I can find for water to leak in. I connected these to the garden light kit, and to my camera and it worked like a charm. Afterwards, I got several more of these and they've been working reliably ever since then.

Good. Makes 3 amps out and does not get very warm.
Works quite well. Tested at 12.3 volts input , it will actually deliver 3.0 amps at 4.93 volts which is better than I expected. (NOTE: One of my USB power meters turns out to not have a good connector, making my initial impression much worse.) I enclose some measured voltages with an adjustable USB load, from no load up to I=3.0 amps. It does not get very warm. Peak efficiency is 0.89 at 1 A, and it is still 0.82 at 3 A output. Quiescent draw (no output load) is 6 mA at 12.3 V input. I wish the MFR would publish this kind of data but I guess they figure no one cares.

It works!
I bought the 2 pack as I was skeptical about the quality/reliability with buck converters. I wired this in my pickup to provide a power source for USB-A and USB-C charge ports. Puts out 5.08V. I have not checked the amperage, however my iPhone 16 and iPad charge normally without issue. Unless I post an addition to this review, assume it’s still working without issue.

Easy conversion from old system
Was able to use these to wire in my new Wyze security cameras using the adapter and my original 12v security camera wiring.

It worked for only an hour.
I hooked up this item and soldered it to secure the contact, i was so happy that it worked right away but then less than an hour i tried to check, it doesn’t work anymore. I’m so disappointed.
