-The solar panel thing is not the greatest either. When working from home I don't have ...
Works well for my desk job, especially for the price.Cons:-The openings for the buttons aren't made to fit the buttons themselves perfectly so the buttons themselves move around. Now the movement is incredibly small so even though it is noticeable it will not interfere with the usage of the calculator. (You'll never press another button than the one you wanted to hit unless your aim just sucks).-The period or dot key at the bottom is the reason why I'm not giving this the five stars. It seems to only register when it is pressed hard down so when you are quickly doing a calculation sometimes the dot does not register and you have to start over again in order to make sure you did the calculation correctly.-The solar panel thing is not the greatest either. When working from home I don't have the best lighting right next to me so the calculator can have issues there, however this is easily fixed by putting in a AA battery at the back. Only requires one so that's pretty good.

This Calculator Changed My Life
I was blind. Stupid, too. I was wandering through a world completely oblivious to the fact that there are questions out there with concrete answers - not estimates. "How much is 12 + 20?" Someone would ask me.. "Um... 25-ish?" would be my reply. I was a fool.Had I the use of this wondrous device, I could have saved, literally, TENS OF DOLLARS in my life: I would have known that the "Four for a dollar" "special" on Ramen wasn't a bargain at all when they actually cost only 18 cents each! I would have known that Meisterbrau isn't really much of a bargain and would have been much more popular at Fraternity Parties had I only brought PBR. I would have known that 50% is just another way of saying "half of everything" in my divorce. Oh... so much wasted time....But not now. Oh no; now for the bargain price of "less than $10" and Free Prime Shipping I can tell when I'm being ripped off; I can tell that $57 for a pack of steaks isn't that much when you're getting 20 lbs of beef! No, it's not a "Scientific" Calculator, but who can make any sense of all THAT anyways? Cosine, Tangent, Co-Tangent.. that's for geeks and tech nerds. Nope: give me "Add/Subtract/Multiply/Divide and maybe a Percent key and a Memory button, and that's fine. If it was good enough for Grand-Dad, it's good enough for me.Seriously, though: it's a calculator. Works on solar or with a battery back-up (AA cell). Buy it.

Pretty Nice
I just received this, and I like the size very well; it fits perfectly on my desk top.The only disconcerting thing is that when you are using it, you do see the numbers you have put up in darker black, but you also see the entire screen filled with "ghost" figure 8s, spread across the screen. This may be something that you can get used to, and probably ignore, but there is a moment when you first put the number in, you see the number highlighted as it should be, with a perfectly blank screen otherwise, and then the ghosts pop up.You have to kind of angle around, so that you are looking at the screen sort of obliquely. However - I may have just solved the problem: I had it directly under the desk lamp, and I find that if I turn the shade down, so that the light is more subdued, the problem is less noticeable.By the way: The product description says that it uses an AA battery, and there is a place for a battery, but since it's also solar, there is actually no need to ever put the battery in - since I doubt I'll ever be using it in the dark.
