Works well
Had to buy this as one of our cats figured out she could sneak in from the side and drag food out with her paws whilst the registered cat was eating from the feeder! It works well, and fits over the feeder perfectly. The retractable lid does bang against the back cover slightly when opening, but it hasn't spooked our cat away from eating from the feeder, just be aware of that if you do have a jumpy cat! I would say it's a bit pricey for what it is, but it does work to keep sneaky cats out.

Expensive but cheaper than vet bills in the long run
Yes they are expensive but I have 2 older cats who have been used to grazing on their food throughout the day and then we rescued a kitten with an insatiable appetite. He was obese and the old ladies were pissed and hungry. Now he can't access their food and they can eat at leisure.Set up was simple, put it in pairing mode and shove the cats head / shoulders in range of the sensors. They quickly learnt how to access their food. Fatboy did initially try to break in but was unsuccessful.Cleaning is very easy, yes food can splash on the flap etc but really it just needs a wipe with a damp cloth. I did also purchase the back cover to ensure he wouldn't be able to muscle his way in from the back, again expensive but worth it.I'd rather pay for these than vet bills for an obese, diabetic cat. Feeding time is far less stressful for all
