I was wondering, can you like place one on one light treel, then cord link the other lights on the tree to that one? So 2 trees would use 2 recieve
Has anyone experienced lag issues? I'm worried if I am constantly changing scenes rapidly, there will be a delay in response time.
If you unplug them and plug them back in. Do they retain their programming codes ?
My transmitter for these went bad. Is it possible to order a single transmitter for replacement? I see single receivers for sale but not transmitters.

NO MORE WIRES!

I had been running wired DMX forever and finally took a chance on a wireless system. I was not let down! These are awesome and can even be added to the ends of wired strings of units to allow you to 'jump' over gaps and avoid the creative routing necessary to keep wires out of traffic paths. The setup was incredibly straightforward, and I was up and running in no time. The wireless connectivity is reliable, with no noticeable lag in data transmission. I love the flexibility it offers, especially when setting up for events like my Halloween display. The ability to control multiple receivers with one transmitter has made managing my lights much simpler and more efficient. The 126 channels and multiple group settings are fantastic features, allowing me to customize and manage different lighting effects without interference. Plus, the impressive communication distance of 500 meters means I can position my lights wherever I need them without worrying about cable runs.Overall, the Donner Wireless DMX system has truly revolutionized my approach to lighting control. It has opened up new creative possibilities for my displays, and I can't recommend it enough for anyone looking to simplify their setup while still achieving professional-quality results!

Compact and dependable wireless units!!!

I was so impressed by the first set I bought, I couldn't wait to buy a second set to replace the previous wireless DMX system we had. We now have two church campus' that are set-up/tear-down locations and dependable wireless DMX has become a necessity. The previous system we had was about 3 years old and has consistently been fickle as would be obvious by freak-out moments with the moving lights. Everything had to be perfect with the old system, this Donner system has been a night and day improvement. The Donner system was plug-and-play and has yet to miss a beat. Reaction is instantaneous. They are SOOO much smaller than the old packs that we had. For 1/3 of the cost of the previous system, all the wireless DMX issues have disappeared. No more problems with interference and touchy power connections. Just flawless DMX signal at each spot. The only issue I have seen is that they seem to develop a lag if the transmitter is getting a weak DMX signal. Once I tried to place a transmitter at the end of a long string of fixtures and DMX cable and then put a receiver at the beginning of another long string. The fixtures on the wireless portion had a multi-second lag and the fade was more in steps than smooth (so I had to run another cable for that jump). Then the same issue developed when the transmitter was connected directly to a USB interface that was hooked to a laptop that had a low battery. Once I plugged the laptop in, the issue disappeared and everything worked perfectly. Knowing this, they work perfectly when they should be.

Well built and work great with one caveat

These seem to be pretty solid hardware and I've had no connection issues or anything like that, the basic functionality works great. However there's one feature that has some serious pitfalls if you don't pay close attention. After going through the top reviews, I can almost guarantee this "feature" is what's causing the majority of the negative reviews where people say they randomly stop working/transmitting. Even though they are packaged as 1 transmitter and X number of receivers - in reality each unit can be either a transmitter or receiver, and they switch automatically with no input from you. If a receiver senses DMX input (which happens, even when they're plugged into a fixtures 'DMX In" port), when that fixture starts running a standalone program (which a ton of fixtures do if there's no DMX input). When that happens, the receiver becomes a transmitter, and all your other recievers will lock onto it.So to outline how this screws you with an example, since the wording is still confusing for some people:- You have your DMX network up and running, however you restart your lighting board or whatever is transmitting- Some of your fixtures have the "feature" of falling back to sound chase mode or whatever when there's no DMX signal, which happens now while your board is restarting (or while you're plugging the main transmitter back in after bumping it, etc)- most fixtures that do this start outputting their chase mode via the DMX output on the fixture as well, to sync other units- since DMX is a bus, the In and Out port on the fixture are the same port and wired directly together, so the receiver connected to the "In" port starts seeing this chase program DMX, and switches over into Transmitter mode- all your other wireless fixtures now lock onto this new transmitter, and won't let go until you remove power from that transmitter- So even when your lighting board finishes rebooting (or you finish plugging the main transmitter back in), your whole wireless DMX network is now locked onto the "transmitter" of some random fixture, and you have to go find this fixture, unplug the "transmitter", then let everything else lock back onto the proper main transmitter. You can see how this would cause a lot of the issues in these reviews (eg "I moved my lights and units to another location and now they won't lock onto my transmitter! or "They completely stop working depending on what order I plug them in!) The solution here is to go through all your fixtures and turn this auto chase mode / standalone mode off (or set them to slaves, so in standalone mode they aren't outputting dmx). Sadly a lot of chinese dmx fixtures don't have any of these options. I know these wireless units are running full blown ARM processors, it should take their developer(s) two hours max to add an override mode such as "hold button for 5 seconds to cycle through modes: transmitter/receiver/auto". This way you could override the autodetection and never have an issue.

When I first plugged them in, they didn't synchronize. Then, I unplugged, then plugged in again, selected the channels and it worked. The manual that comes with it is micro print and pretty much worthless but they post their manual on the website, so major plus. I can blow it up to a readable size and it reads well.I ran this wit 6 different light strings and played a gig. WOW, stayed solid. I will say that it didn't like being plugged into my lights directly, but when I put a 3 foot DMX cable between the receiver and the first light in a string, it worked well and solid. We use to spend 20 - 40 minutes stringing wires and running tape or overhead tie offs. Now, all that is gone. I had lights 75 feet out and that's as far as I could go in the venue (I would have to go outside to test it farther). The connection was rock solid and never even hiccupped once throughout the night. I really need to find a way to go over that as the manual says about 500 feet. I will test that soon but for a bar, or a outdoor event, 100 feet is the max of what we do and so far, so great.
