Works as expected
The tape works as expected. It's strong enough to adhere to my painting board but light enough to detach easily. It can come loose sometimes, but I simply reattach it. I would buy it again.

Did not stick to paper or my drafting board
For $9 I expected the best drafting tape ever. This is thin, which isn't in itself a problem, but it doesn't stick. I thought it might be that the outer layers were aged in storage, which sometimes happens, but no. Pulled off yards of it, same thing. My guess is that this is stored in a warehouse, and some folks have good luck, and get too fresh a roll, with overly-aggressive adhesive, while others get a roll that's been hanging out till the adhesive has aged too much to use.Buy from an online art supply store, which where everything won't come from China with no quality control, no guarantees that mean anything, and returns being impossible.

Almost not sticky enough
I used this to mask off part of my watercolor paper. It definitely didn't peel any paper off when removing it, but it also barely stuck to the paper in the first place! At some points I just had to give up on it because it kept peeling right back off. At this rate I will go through an entire roll in no time. Not worth the money spent on it! It actually did a pretty decent job in places where I got it to stick, but too time consuming to keep messing with. I'll have to buy a different brand. Don't waste your money.

GOOD MASKING TAPE
I BOUGHT THIS DRAFTING TAPE BECAUSE OF THE WIDTH, LENGTH, AND PRICE. I FINALLY HAD REASON TO USE THIS TAPE - COULDN'T DO SO SOONER. CAN'T WRITE A REVIEW ON WHAT I HAVEN'T TRIED. IT SERVES THE PURPOSE. IT DID NOT TEAR MY DRAWING, DIDN'T LEAVE ANY RESIDUE, AND PROTECTED; THE AREAS I WANTED TO PROTECT. WHAT MORE COULD YOU WANT?

Really low tack
Got it to tape down my watercolor paper. Usually use painter's tape or masking tape (which can sometimes stick to the paper too good). This tape sticks to the paper but not the desk so it doesn't hold the paper down. Back to the drawing board... literally.

Useful for sheet music!
I write/arrange music on my computer for a band. In the past, when I printed out individual parts that spilled over onto a 2nd or 3rd page, I used 3M drafting tape to bind the sheets together (i. e., to keep them organized and stationary on a music stand). That product, however, seems to have disappeared from the market. I have found that regular masking tape and "cellophane" tape are awkward and can sometimes eventually stain through the paper. As an experiment, I recently bought a roll of this Pro Art drafting tape and used it for the binding. I found that it does the job for me as well as 3M did. I will be ordering more and will be using it from now on.
