PE-Civil: Three Practice Exams for the Morning Breadth Section: 120 Questions with Solutions

I recently purchased this book after a colleague of mine who passed her FE in first try had purchased the authors FE preparation book and had recommended the book to a lot of other people. I found out that the author just published a new PE book so bought it to study for my upcoming PE exam. I can assure that the book lives up to the expectation. There are plenty of practice problems for the morning section and in the back there are solutions for the practice problem, guided in a step by step procedure for better understanding. The book is very well organized, clear and very concise. The price was very affordable too. Good resource for anyone studying for the PE exam.

The book is a decent value, 120 problems for a good price. However be careful that there are many errors in the book. I've noticed a few, but a quick example is problem #92 which asks to calculate the FS for a footing bearing in clay. The solution uses qult formula for sand rather than using qult for clay, and considers FS=qult/qall rather than FS=qnet/qall. Unfortunately there is no way to contact the author to discuss these problems. Overall, remains a decent value as long as you can recognize the issues.

This is a great resource for the morning breadth session of PE-Civil exam. The author is so generous to include three complete practice exam problems with solutions for a competitive price. I highly recommend it to anyone studying to take this exam!

I returned the book. Too many errors

Good value but there are several errors, especially in the geotechnical problems.

This is the book for you if you're studying for the PE-Civil exam. Three complete practice exams with solutions will complement and enhance your preparations for the morning breadth portion of the exam. This is an excellent resource.

I'm on question 12 and I've found 2 wrong solutions this far. I hope this book doesn't end up confusing me or costing me on the exam.

Many errors, but a lot of practice for not much money.
