Kokuho Calrose Rice, Nomura Yellow, 15-Pound

My daughter, who lives in Japan, loves this rice. I always thought rice is the same no matter where you buy it... but that's not true. This is a very nice tasting rice, not too stodgy or sticky when cooked. I use a rice cooker, but this is by far my favorite rice. Bag is quite big so it will last you a while.

This is our favorite rice and our local market stopped selling it. It was nice to get it delivered to our door in secure packaging.

Bought mainland in-laws a Tiger rice cooker a couple of years ago ... but when we visited this summer, they had only long-grain rice at their house! After going to a few grocery stores and finding nothing except instant, long-grain, jasmine, and wild rice, I turned to Amazon. They did not fail me, and the rice arrived in a few days. Made 4 cups for dinner, had no leftovers. (Before this rice, I had made 3 cups for dinner, and we'd had two days of leftover rice.) Highly recommended, especially for those who live in neighborhoods with minimal Asian influence.

This is my second bag. I really like rice and good rice is hard to find in supermarkets. It's a big bag but we finished it when the 8 puppies got diarrhea.

For whatever reason I think I was a little misled with the item description title.Kokuho Calrose Rice Yellow.I was expecting a rice that was, wait for it, yellow. The clear pane window on the pic of the bag, makes the rice look a little yellow, does it not??But this is regular old white rice. le sigh.Still I was fine with the way it cooked up, the taste is bland to me compared to what I normally buy, jasmine or Basmati.It's still food and will be eaten. I like it, I don't love it, and it's perfectly fine.I was still expecting a light yellow rice. *sigh*

I like the rice very much.It was shipped as estimated and the package is intact.It tastes the same as those in the supermarkets.Not soft and not sticky. It just has the balance of everything.

$50 for 15 pounds rice during covid-19.Don’t buy it!!!

Great Hawaii Local Rice. Calrose in the yellow bag is what is popular in Hawaii and this is a great deal. I like the smaller bags of 15 pounds of the rice, which we dump into a large gallon bucket. The rice stays fresh. My husband eats rice daily and goes through this in about 1 -1/2 months. We use a Japanese style rice cooking pot. Its the perfect sticky rice for us locals from Hawaii who are now live on the mainland..
