Don't over fill.
This is a great product if you have kids around. The cutting edge is not overly sharp. That said, it cuts fine as long as you don't ask it to do too much. I can cut 2-3 sheets of 100 lb. weight paper at a time. More than that and it wants to tear. Gives both inch and centimeter measurements. Size is good, I needed more than an small one offered. Sturdy, and seems to be self sharpening.

Straight cuts can be difficut
It can be hard to make straight cuts because the long blade easily moves sideways

Great cutter.
Highly recommend. Cuts very well. Like the measurements on it. Sharp blade. Locks into place when not in use.

Sturdy construction but lightweight for such a large paper cutter
This cutter is surprisingly light for an 18" cut size but its construction is still solid. Weight was reduced by substituting framing beneath the cutting surface rather than making it of a thick board yet it is still solid enough that it doesn't walk around during use. I don't have the space to keep a paper cutter always out on my counter so taking it out and putting it away between uses is easier than with a big heavy device. I've long used my paper cutters to sometimes cut lightweight aluminum in addition to paper or cardboard and was pleasantly surprised to see that such occasional usage was actually approved in the instructions.

Made in china, nuff said.
The feet are hard plastic instead of soft rubber, so it slides all over my table. The blade is not a blade, its a square curved arm with one corner lip ground to be kinda sharp and closes on the board using an identical imbedded ground corner to cut like big scissors. The alignment ruler is super flimsy, and isnt attached to the board or lockable in any way.The paper clamp that is attached to the cutting arm should go all 18", but it only clamps 11" of paper. The HANDLE doesnt come attached, and you SHOULD NOT tap it fully onto the arm, because then the arm wont cut past 16.5" and wont lock on the pin. I had to painstakingly tap the handle back off about .5" to get it to close fully and lock.Ive only cut a few test sheets, and it did cut, but im not really happy with the design or execution. Another design that amazon should steal and tweak to improve and sell for cheaper.Update: ive cut a few small booklets with this and the "blade" (not actually a blade) is already dull and ruined the last booklet i tried to cut. It was only 10 sheets thick and this is advertised to cut cleanly through 12. I did a test and it barely cuts through a single sheet without fraying the edge.Total waste of money.

AMAZING CUTTER
This paper cutter was really easy to use and very accurate. I was shocked at how crisp the cut was, given that there is no actual visible “blade”. I wouldn’t say it’s “lightweight”, but it seems very high quality and sturdy. To be completely honest, when I ordered this, I figured I would end up having to return it, but thought I’d give it a go. I’m SO GLAD I DID—I LOVE IT and HIGHLY RECOMMEND it to anyone looking for a guillotine type cutting device!
