Great little pump!
Great size to use in my mini 5-gallon tank. Strong enough to pump the water through the filter and has lasted a long time! Helps to keep my little tank clean.

A useful little pump
I purchased this pump to help with doing weekly aquarium water changes. The pump is small and the suction cups allow for easy attachment to the glass inside the aquarium. There is a variable speed setting, but I always use it at the max speed. It takes a few minutes to pump 3.5 gallons of water into or out of the aquarium. It is fairly quiet.Issues:- When pumping water back into the tank, I need to put the bucket of new water on a chair, at about the same level as the aquarium. The pump doesn't seem have enough power to push the water up into the tank if the bucket is on the floor.- The hose initially had some kinks due to how it was packaged, but after using it for several water changes, the hose has returned to a normal shape and it doesn't show any issues now.- One time the pump briefly stopped working, but that appeared to be due to sucking in some debris and wasn't the pump's fault. Flushing it out with some water cured the problem. For the price, it's an OK pump. I just wish it had a bit more power so that it could pump water up from the floor level into the aquarium.

Surprisingly Strong Little Pump
Used this water pump for a Halloween prop, and it worked great. It’s surprisingly strong for its size and ran without any issues. Perfect for small setups—definitely impressed

Reliable little pump!
I bought one of these in February 2022 to replace the pump that came with the 2.5 gallon Top Fin Retreat Aquarium that had died. It barely fits in the back container but did the job! So when that one died in August 2024, I immediately came back here to buy another one (at a lower price even!). The style did change a bit (the exit hole assembly was removable in one but attached in the other) but overall dimensions still worked. I'm pretty impressed that a $10 pump lasted over 2 years, especially given that it basically had no cleaning/maintenance performed on it during that time.

Not easy to clean
Very difficult to open. Haven't been able to yet. Tiny plastic clips hold it together that will surely break off and be in the water unnoticed

So far it’s pumping right along
I’m using it in a tabletop fountain that’s pump died over 10 years ago. I’ve wanted to get a new pump for it for some time but they’re usually either too expensive or have too much power. This one is a good balance. It started up perfectly out of the box and seems to be working well for now, only time will tell how long it will last.My biggest issue with it is the lack of a coupler to connect the new tube to the tube that’s plastered into my fountain. The pump is so short I needed an extra 1” between the existing tube and the pump. Since I didn’t want to let the pump dangle, it would have run out of water too fast, I just spliced the new tube and forced it over the old one to get the extra length it needed. Colorado is very dry so even with it fully submerged I have to add water every 2 days, it’ll be daily in winter. At some point I’ll hunt for the coupler but for now this seems to be working well. I did accidentally pull the tubes apart when I moved the fountain today but it was easier to slide on the second time, it was a huge pain the first go round.I have one other fountain that I’d like to get up and running but will wait to see how long this lasts. If it’s going strong in a few months I’ll get another, but I’ll make sure to have a coupler first! If it dies in the next 6 months I’ll update my review, but for now it’s a solid 4 stars.
