The Behringer HPS3000 Studio Headphones - A Fine-Sounding Headphone
The media could not be loaded. The title says it all - these Behringer HPS3000 Studio Headphones produce very good sound, especially when the price is considered.I'm sure you have read the many negative reviews here, especially those which complain about the longevity of this product. I can sympathize with those people who may have had some problems but I cannot claim to have had any myself.Well, you could say, "Okay. He bought ONE set and he was lucky; his are good ones."You could say that - but you'd be wrong.I did not buy one set; I bought SIX sets - and from two different vendors at different times. The last three were purchased from Amazon. You can see all six in my video. All have functioned perfectly from Day 1 and all continue to function perfectly. Most importantly, all have functioned identically, a sign of superb design and quality control. Two of them have been across the country and back.Over the years I have owned many headphone sets (including a very expensive one made by another German company whose name begins with S and ends with R; this set, which lasted about four years, is now a permanent resident of our local landfill).I use headphones extensively. I bought one of these HPS3000s some time ago and I was surprised (actually astounded) by the clarity of sound they produced. These Behringers have sound quality which, in my opinion, is superior to that of those other German headphones, especially in the bass and the crystalline highs produced. It is also superior to most other headphones I have heard, including Sony and Bose. (But I have to say that they are noticeably inferior to the TASCAM TH Series TH-MX2 Studio Headphones which, however, are somewhat more costly - though the difference won't break the bank.)I listen frequently via these headphones to CDs on the Lyrita Recorded Edition label; if you are familiar with that name, you know that they have achieved the finest sound quality yet available on CD (not quite, of course, as good as that available on SACD - but very close). Do you want to try a sampling? Try this: Celebrating 50 Years Devoted To British Music, Set One; if you like that set, then try this one: Celebrating 50 Years Devoted To British Music, Set Two. Not only is the sound quality spectacular, so is the music quality! In my opinion, these Behringer headphones are very good - in terms of sound quality, construction quality, and value for money. Period. That's why I wound up buying a total of six of them. (And yes I have specific uses for all six.) My older headphones, of which I have many, now reside in a box in my basement. (But my new TASCAMS are the ones I shall use when listening seriously via headphones.)As for comfort, I think that is highly subjective. I have found these to be at least as comfortable as any I have owned in the past and really a bit better than most. They are lightweight (though 'clunky' looking) and they cover my ears completely (but they are not noise-canceling). The headband is also very comfortable. Once I put them on, I do not have to adjust them further and I listen generally for three or four hours at a time. But the only way for you to know for sure if they fit you comfortably is to try them. They fit me just fine. (My older headphones are also, for the most part, comfortable.)Obviously I highly recommend these Behringers to you. I also highly recommend that you buy them from Amazon. If by chance you were to receive a defective pair, you could return them to Amazon at absolutely no cost to you. (If you ask, Amazon will schedule a pickup at your home or place of business so you don't even have to take the package to the post office or a different shipping facility.) You can request an exchange or a refund. The choice is yours. But after buying, owning, and extensively using these six pair, I am confident that, if you buy a set, you will have the same experience as I have had. (I should also say that I own several other Behringer products: Behringer UCA202 Audio Interface, Behringer UCA222 U-Control Ultra-Low Latency 2 In/2 Out USB Audio Interface with Digital Output And Downloadable Software Bundle, and Behringer PP400 Ultra-Compact Phono Preamp. I am 100% satisfied with all of them. And, other than as a completely satisfied customer, I have no connection whatsoever with the Behringer company.)I would give these headphones 50 stars if I could, especially when you consider the ridiculously low price asked for them (compare the price to that of any other high-quality set of headphones). I paid far less for my six Behringers than I did for the one expensive set I mentioned above. In conclusion, it is my opinion that, if you want "prestige" or "coolness," then you buy Beats by Dr. Dre, Bose, Sennheiser, or some other $300.00+ headphones. However, if all you want is comfort and fine sound quality over many hours, then you buy these.I thank you for reading this, for watching my video, and for considering my opinions.Lawrence H. Bulk

Great for the price
These headphones sound nice and balanced. I've used them for casual music listening and tracking in audio production. They work remarkably well in both scenarios. I highly recommend them if you're on a budget.

Buenos audifonos
Me gusta la calidad de sonido de estos audiofonos, son comodos y economicos. Excelente para Dj, no los recomiendo mucho para edicion de audio porque la respuesta de frecuencias no es plana, tienen los bajos bien pronunciados.

Not terrible, but not great either
When I purchased the Behringer HPS3000 headphones, I was going strictly by the product description and the reviews that leaned positive and at the same time, trying to keep the cost at minimal thinking I could end up with a great product. I got these to use instead of the crappy Sony MDR-XD200 headphones that I had purchased a few years prior. Though the Behringer HPS3000 are a far cry better than the Sony XD200 (see my scathing review on those), I still find them to be lacking in some areas.Upon putting them on, one thing that is noticeable compared to the Sony's are the way they grip and stay on your head without slipping off easy. They feel more durable, have a tighter headband and the L/R pieces press the drivers up to your ear. The isolation seems to be pretty good. From what I can tell so far, though they are plastic, I don't hear any creaking plastic when I adjust them like I did with the Sony's. Thus, they are easier to work with so long as when they are plugged in to your device (I plug mine into my Onkyo receiver which is connected to my PC), you are sitting close enough to it that if you turn your head you will not end up ripping the plug out of the jack. I think they could have made the cord at least 3-4 feet longer in length to allow more room for moving around if need be. Though the cord length may be a plus for those using it with a portable device (say an iPod or laptop) so you wouldn't need to stuff excess cord in your pocket, it becomes a nuisance in other use settings due to it's lack of length. The bass is good with *some* genres of music. -My tastes are mainly electronic genres or rock, but occasionally a little bit of everything. With mid or punchy bass they perform in the "okay" arena, but when attempting to play anything with a deeper bass response required, they sound strained altogether across the full range, almost like there is some sort of whizzing or buzz. Granted, at high volumes this could be a common issue in many headphones, but when the volume isn't all too loud, this is somewhat disappointing. Behringer advertises these headphones to have crystal clear 'deep' bass which they simply do not provide. High frequencies on some types of music usually needs to be turned up, which also is somewhat aggravating because when I unplug them and use my speakers, I then need to adjust the treble down so that it isn't too bright through them. These few things coupled with the fact that when I got mine they were almost $40 after shipping tend to get on my nerves given that now the price has fallen to $20 which is more or less, what they are worth. As with any product, I like to use it for a while before writing a review to make sure I'm not biased in the way I review. With the HPS3000's I thought as with many other sound devices that they would get better the more I used them. This has not happened however. It is my conclusion that they are suited for light to moderate usage in music, but if you want better sound across the full spectrum, you will probably need to aim for higher priced headphones and not take the cheap way out like I now have done twice. As for me, the lesson has been learned and I will aim higher in terms of cost and quality next time around.
