AMAZING!!!!
installing it was a breeze and it fits like a dream, once it’s one it’s snug and works like a charm. on my honda the plastic sleeve was still on the hood release, it took me about 15 minutes to remove that. if you’re is off then the job won’t take longer than 5 mins. so glad i bought this!!!!

Excellent design, robust build quality
The factory Honda handle was grossly inadequate as far as design strength. Mine snapped off like everyone elses. This high quality replacement unit is made of metal, and has two allen key set screws that once tightened, should hold this from ever slipping off the cable shaft. To install it, clip away horizontally at the leftover molded plastic of the original handle to reveal the metal shaft of the cable. Use a set of pinch nose pliers, or pinch nose vice grips, to pull the shaft of the cable as forward as possible so you can bottom out the new handle onto the shaft and tighten the set screws. works great.

Perfect replacement piece for my son's 2003 Honda Civic LX
My son just recently purchased a 2003 Honda Civic LX and the lever had become brittle and broken off long before he purchased it. The previous owner was using pliers to open the hood. I ordered this piece and it came on time packed well with all of it's pieces. The trickiest part was removing what was left of the old plastic to actually be able to install this new lever. We used wire cutters and very carefully cut away the old plastic being careful not to damage the metal rod the plastic was attached to. Then we quickly installed the new lever which appears to be made from a heavy duty metal. We are very pleased with the result and how sturdy it feels

Looks Great. Install and Forget It!
I took my car to have some brake work done and over 1 week later, happened to notice my hood release on the floor by my seat. WHAT?? After questioning, someone finally admitted they'd broken it off- how is beyond me. Since the cable was fine and I didn't want to mess with replacement so looked for a handle only option and found this. Sadly, it's one of those things you don't use that often but kinda wish you had to because it works SO well.Because my trim didn't want to unsnap easily, cutting the original plastic part off with a Dremel was a bear and took some time and patience. After that, install was cake! There is about 1/4" or so of sleeve that slides onto the brass cable end and, after tightening the 2 set screws, it holds VERY securely with no hope of braking off. Ever.***NOTE*** I found that by over inserting the cable end into this new handle, the hood didn't want to release completely. If you find this is the case, loosen the set screws just enough that you can move the handle. Then, pull the handle out a little and retighten only 1 set screw. Re-test the release. Do this until it releases like the factory handle, then tighten both set screws and never worry about this again.

Whatever you do DON'T USE VICE GRIPS
This is a good part and easy to install, but don't use vice grips like the top review suggests. I did this and now my cable has a kink in it and won't go back in easily. Just cut away the old plastic and install the new handle, but DO NOT use vice grips to pull the cable out to do this.

Great replacement for the broken plastic one
The plastic hood release was broken on our CRV for quite a while, I really did not want to replace the whole cable, as it seems you have to. Found this and it worked great! I did have to break the rest of the plastic one off the end of the cable as it is molded right on there. But this tightens down with 2 allen screws and your done!

Fit for Honda CR-V 2001
Bought this for a fair price to replace my hood release button that was missing. Fits well and quality is good for the price. No more pulling the end of the cable.

Bonnet cable handle
It feels great, the finish is excellent. The grub screws were on the wrong side. I would suggest that the description says it’s the US version. I had to fiddle around to get the handle on but I got it there.
