Q: Will this work with displaying a Nintendo 3DS screen on a television?

No. 100% doesn't work on 3DS. Thats why I bought it and the 3DS port is too small. Cable doesn't fit.

Q: Can i use this as an adapter for a 3rd monitor? second one being plugged into a hdmi on a 2014 macbook, will this let me work across 3 screens?

For more than one screen you will require an adapter which has multiple outputs.

Yes should be no problem - mine is late 2012 MacBook Pro but should be no fundamental difference.

Q: I purchased this and opened the packaging and realised it isn't compatible with my device, am i still entitled to return it despite it being open?

I think returning for a full refund including shipping charges would depend on whether your device was mentioned amongst the compatibility information in the description but if it is your error, I believe you can still return it within the return window but at your won cost and they don't have to refund the shipping.

Great quality and well worth the money , never skimp when it comes to HDMI devices and while there are other cheaper options most break or have connection issues while this one was plug and play and had no problem with 4k resolution!

I used it straight away after I received it. Works like an absolute charm. It connects very well. Fits inside the port very well. I highly recommended it for Microsoft surface users since the Microsoft surface pro has only a USB A and display port from the surface pro 7 below.

Initially worked well but pc kept crashing

Arrived quickly and safely. It Initially worked well so was happy with the product but my pc kept crashing and only stopped when I disconnected it. So I’m guessing some compatibility issues.
