Linux All-in-one for Dummies 6th Edition

I love dummy series and this is no exception. It be is a very good book to start on the subject.

Needed this... Helps with the basics and a little more to make you professional

However, the pages are similar to newsprint and make highlighting difficult. Overall the text is a fine addition to the Linux library.

I read portions of book from library copy. Recommend if you seriously want to learn.So this full PDF version is actually better than hard copy to use in studying.

As usual and expected, this book has good intentions to be used as a credible resource for whatever direction you wish to follow.

Easy to understand

This book would be better if it would just stick to one version of linux at a time. By jumping from version to version without any logical reason that I could ascertain, it was really hard to get to any information that would be helpful for me. I think that the best use for this book is to find something by using the index and hope that it applies to the right distribution or at least to point to where to look. Considering that there are hundreds of versions of Linux and that each version is regularly updated, it does not make much sense to erratically jump from subject to subject, version to version, and topic to topic. This can't be of use to someone who is just learning as a beginner.

It was a gift for my son. He said it had everything in it.
