Great tool to add to my tool collection
I have a 1991 Toyota Land Cruiser that I recently inherited from my brother. The first thing I started to do when I got it was to start tuning it up. In the process of performing an overall tune up and inspecting systems that had wear and tear. I needed to restart the engine after having reset the timing while adjusting the valves. In the process I had made a minor oversight in the TDC adjustment. I had set TDC to the exhaust stroke as opposed to the required compression stroke. Consequently I experience a no start situation that sent me on an investigation to rule out 3 key areas that could cause a no start - spark, air, and fuel. Spark is a simple test that you can use a 5 dollar spark test tool or with out it use a simple stunt of turning over the engine and grounding the spark plug to the block to see if there is spark at the plug. After you have observed the spark and shocked yourself you with a major jolt of electricity you can conclude the distributer and the plugs are flowing with current. Next you need to check to make sure that there are no blockages of air coming in through the air box, air cleaner, mass flow sensor and throttle body. Also need to check your vacuum hoses for correct connections, cracks, leaks at connections etc. Now the last part is fuel. Checking fuel will tell me if my fuel pump is working, or if I have a blockage or leak in the system that need to be investigated. Now, you need to check your fuel pressure in the fuel line connecting to the fuel filter leading into the fuel injectors. Farther down stream on the intake manifold you need to check the fuel pressure at the cold start fuel injector. Since my Truck is a Toyota I specifically need the special "M12 X 1.25 Banjo Adapter" provided in the Actron CP7838 Professional Fuel Pressure Tester kit. I used it to pick up the pressure reading at the cold start fuel injector. I could have been easily blocked at that point if it were not for that adapter that many other kits do not provide. You need this adapter to connect to Asian, European and some domestic vehicles equipped with fuel Banjo Bolt Connections. Without this part I could have been running all of the local metro area trying to find one tiny part. The cost in gas and time and frustration to locate that part alone could have easily rivaled the cost of the "Actron CP7838 fuel pressure tester" that I just purchased. The small adapter can be found on the web for around $10 to $12 plus the $5 dollars for shipping and handling. Thus the entire pack is a great deal and it works amazingly well. I very happy to have added this new tool to my collection. It does everything I need it to do for my Land Cruiser. It works and is a great value for the price.

Full review below. Dont wait! Buy this now!! OMG wish i would have bought it sooner!!
Thank you God! I have several Cars that need maintenance and that needed to be trouble shot. I like to drag race import cars. I have been having a hell of a time figuring out what was wrong with my race car, my work truck (toyota) and my daily driver. on the these cars i did every thing, Compression test, changed injectors, vacuum test, timing, replace fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator, spark plugs, wires, throttle body, FPR sensor, O2 sensors and the list continues. I just knew that it couldn't be the fuel pump because the fuel pump was less than 2 years old with less than 100 miles and it was Walbro racing pump. Plus I could hear the fuel pump kick on, and i the car/truck would run for a while before it cut off. Well with in 5 minutes of hooking up the Fuel pressure tester i figured out what the problem was! Guess what it was in both my race car and my work truck? yeah the fuel pump! LOL I felt so silly! I had completely rebuilt my race car's engine, transmission, and upgraded damn near every componet on the car, a year and a half project! By the time i figgured out what was wrong over half the race season was over. Plus it helped me to rule out the fuel pump on my daily driver. It turns out my timing belt tensioner failed on my daily driver, that is now fixed also. This tool has paid for its self 10x over. I use it to help trouble shoot other vehicles. Very Helpful. i also use it to help tune my race car. i leave it hooked up and position the gauge on the windshield so i can see it while i am driving an make adjustments. It is hooked up on my car right now. its great because it has quick disconnect fttings so that i can remove it quickly if necessary.i shopped around and looked at other brands before i bought this one. there were some out there for less money but their quaility was crap. Trust me spend the extra $20 and buy this one. it has good quaility, it will last and it is a necessity for any do it yourselfer. I hope this helps.

Good Guage
This is a good guage for the home mechanic. Kit has adapters for just about any vehicle out, you can even splice into a rubber fuel line if the fuel rail adapter you need isn't in the kit. My particular vehicle is a Lexus RX300 which is basically a V6 toyota with Lexus decals, this kit came with the proper banjo bolt adapter and sealing washers for me to do the pressure test. The guage is encased in rubber so you can lay it face down on the windshield and check the pressures from inside the vehicle without it sliding down the windshield. The guage also has a pressure relief button which is nice to have when your done with your testing. Two things I would want you to do before using the guage for the first time. 1 remove the black test line atached to the guage and wrap the threads in teflon tape. It's worth 25 seconds of your time to prevent a leak. 2 At the other end of the same black line is a brass fitting, look inside it and you will see a rubber o-ring give it a shot of WD-40. It's worth another 5 seconds of your time. The extra 30 seconds of prep Gave me a leak free test first use. Happy testing.

The hose on the guage as equipped is a good length for viewing from inside the cab.
The guage works great and the long hose is convenient for diagnostics.
