LPI Linux Essentials Certification All-in-One Exam Guide

Great book and certification for anyone going Linux.
Clear and concise information. There are a handful of errors in the questions that appear to be editing mistakes, but the information is really good. I didn't think I would learn much since I have been using Linux for many years, and this book/certification is supposed to be elementary; however, I have actually learned several things by studying this material. If you plan on going into Linux Admin work or taking on Linux support in your business, I would highly recommend this book and certification. Not sure how much it will help the career, but it will certainly help you understand more of the nuts and bolts of Linux.

Easy to read
Easy to read, easy to follow. Examples make sense, and you can understand the subject matter by the end of each chapter.

Outdated
The material in this book is outdated. It is not surprising since it was published in 2013. It references Novel owning SUSE Linux for example.Other than being outdated the writing is good and has an easy to follow flow. I would not make this your primary study guide and only source of information if you are going to take the exam.

Great book for linux beginners.
I woudl recommend if you have never seen anyhting in linux pick up this book. Don't be attempted by Linux+ yet. In the job market its much better to understand why you are doing something than simply passing a test.

If you are getting started in linux this book is okay. There are a few inconsistencies in the book and on the practice exam. For instance the author says that groupmod -A will add a user to a group but there is no -A flag with groupmod. The book is very easy to read with 13 chapters and review questions at the end of each chapter. I would supplement this book with extensive review of the man pages pertaining to the subject.

Good Book for Newbie
If you have never touched or used Linux, this is a book you can use to start your journey. While I also had another book with this as a beginner, it's great for a beginner and assumes no prior knowledge.
