Brief and very thorough
This is very concise and thorough. The author has distilled a lot of information in a very thin booklet. I never realized how complicated this art form is. I plan to make something small, just to try his methods. But I think even a serious artist may get a lot our of it, particularly if they are not too familiar with concrete as a medium. Great pictures, and an inspiration.

Good but not for the price
I thought that it would have a little more information in it. Internet is more valuable, especially for the price.

"Introduction" is an appropriate part of the title.
Loaded with information, nicely printed including color photographs, and a heavy paperback cover. But if you're expecting a 300 page book with faux bois porn to drool over, be aware that it's 20 pages. A darn good 20 pages though, enough that I feel I could at least make a start. I believe this was originally meant to be workshop reference material.

A Superb Course Syllabus for Faux Bois Art by America's Expert
This deceptively slender course syllabus for creating faux bois objets'du art has captured the spirit of America's foremost expert on this subject. It gives a potent distillation of experience and knowledge to guide both neophytes and skilled artisans in mastery of this subject. The author has a phenomenal understanding of his craft, evident in every page. One can only hope that he will author the definitive monograph of Faux Bois. Every student of faux bois should consider purchasing this seminal publication.

Great information but read the fine print
I should have paid more attention, this was a great price but it's not the full book, just a supplement.

compact introduction
I am not sure what I expected when I ordered this book. It is not a 200 page textbook but a compact straight to the point workbook. This workbook gets you on the road to a project in a hurry. I am looking foward to taking the actual class.

Disappointing
I was so excited to buy this book and delve into trade secrets and techniques on creating faux boix textures and sculptures, but was very disappointed when it came. Flimsy book and not much information on “how-to.”

Nicerly done...
Still trying to decided if the information is detailed enough to complete a project, but I think it is. Some of the finished projects are mind blowing.
