For America, The T2 Terrestrial Will Not Work
T2 Terrestrial is in Khz for this box and we as Americans using it here in the USA use Mhz in OTA Tuning! So don't expect the box to work for Over The Air Broadcast in your area! So if you want both The FTA Satellite side works fine for the price. DVB-S2 HD, DVR works great. The Web Media YouTube part is in need of improvement as well, since it is a over seas box it has mostly stuff from there and has a search function, no North America Satellite list is shipped with it was well, but you can go to the web site of the manufacture and get the list as a update bin file and load it Via USB! All and all it is a great little box for the price just wish it had a Khz to Mhz change option for us Americans!

Works great as long as you know what you are doing.
This product is cheap enough to experiment with so I bought it with very low expectations, I am pleasantly surprised it works better than I expected with many features I haven't gotten into. Now for those who expect miracles, well this product will disappoint you..- The "Plus" or the T2 in the "FTA DVB-S2/T2" of the product is useless in America but the manufacturer has no idea, this should be clearly stated in the product description but well I care less..- GTMEDIA V7PLUS doesn't have the listings of the West coast satellites, so user must add them, as a hacker this is fine with me, BTW KOQIT Free to Air FTA device is few dollars cheaper and has the listings.

Works Great
Have bought 2 of these. One upstairs and one downstairs. Have old 10' C band dish with new lnb. All FTA channels from sats 91 west to 135 west come in crystal clear. We view Galaxy 16 alot. WVGN, WSJX etc. FOX, NBC, ABCEasy to hookup. Minor problem had to download update for North American Sats.

NOT North America OTA Compatible & Tuner is HORRIBLE.
I've just begun working on FTA hobby and bought this STB for it's apparent capabilities. It is NOT North America OTA/Terrestrial capable and it does NOT do well on blind scan. Have another STB and it "acquired" 151 more audio channels on one bird and 10 more video channels than this device can.Note if you live in North America and want to use the Terrestrial OTA Tuner, DO NOT buy it as it is not compatible.Response from GTMedia on their Forum "the OTA Terrstrial for United States is ATSC-T, Now we do not support this signal type."

Not worth it
Don’t waste your money or time on this product especially if you live in the Western Hemisphere. It comes loaded only with eastern satellites and I spent hours trying to find western satellites online without luck. I contacted support and they have not gotten back to me. Add to that the unit is SLOW for menus and searching. The remote only works if pointed directly at the unit. I thought about manually entering satellites and living with the other deficiencies but instead, shelved it and bought an Amiko receiver. Night and day difference! It costs twice as much but is 10X the product.

Worked for a little over a month. Now it's dead. And my father is sad...
I purchased this for my elderly father who wanted to watch channel from overseas. When his old x2 died (lasts about 3 years) I did some research and decided on this one.My husband upgraded the firmware and set it all up for him. Everything was working great until the box started making a high pitch sound and running very hot. A couple days later, it was dead just outside the return period. Now I'm left with a saddened father who just wanted to see a little bit of home in the last part of his life. Anybody have any alternatives products we could try out? what a waste of money!

A great little receiver for the money
For the price point, this is a great value! I'm thoroughly happy with the performance, the form factor, and the fact it has *real* RCA outputs on the back for audio instead of a 3.5mm/headphone jack that requires the adaptor cable. One other huge plus is that it runs cool to the touch (unlike the X2 receiver that it replaced... you could have fried an egg on that one!) The X2 receiver I had also frequently would freeze/hang up and required a hard power reset - this V7PLUS receiver is responsive and fluid which is a nice change. The *only* reason I docked it one star for 4/5 stars is that you cannot easily edit the VID/AID/PID for "custom" channels on the receiver itself. I tried for a few hours to figure out how to input a custom AID but found the only way to do it is to use some kind of shady software I found online. (You can find it by using google and searching for V7PLUS database editor) The process essentially boils down to using the "backup" feature on the receiver to copy the user settings to a USB stick, editing the database file on your computer (which really allows for a lot of customization, but I just wanted to add the AID/PID for a few Muzak channels on SES3) then restoring that "backup" from the USB stick. Once I figured out that process, it was super straightforward! Overall, I'm really happy with this receiver.

Does everything you'd expect with one minor exception.
GTMedia V7 Plus is an excellent FTA satellite receiver for the price. Remote is responsive with good tactile feedback. Receiver is proper in sensitivity unlike some less expensive units. Quick blind scans. Did not check the terrestrial receiver. Note that Youtube streaming through WiFi is inoperative as it has been in every satellite receiver I've seen so far. Overall a good unit that will likely replace an older X2 M1 receiver.

Vender sent wrong model
Rating is for V8 PRO, because vendor sent wrong model. Very basic receiver, but simple to use. Receives S2 satellite channels and terrestrial TV signals from Europe. Of course you can't use the TV function in North America. The model I ordered was WIFI capable and had the type of AV output connectors I needed for my setup. This unit does not have these features. The Vendor informed me that they switched models after the unit shipped. If you want a simple receiver without all the bells and whistles, and you don't mind having a useless TV function, this model might be OK.

It's a good box for the Money. The PVR function works great.
It's a good box for the Money. The PVR function works great. I had a signal problem due to the weakness of Eutelsat 113A that never affected other receivers I have used at this location, but after using a slightly bigger dish, it seems to have stabilized somewhat. If you want to use it on a stronger satellite, without a doubt, this receiver is great value for the money.
