SD Card Reader limited to USB 2.0 speeds
This is mis-sold, the card reader is USB 2.0 and is as such limited to 480Mbps, not the 5Gbps advertised.The USB 3.0 type-A connector works at 3.0 Super Speed, however the StdA_SSRX and StdA_SSTX pairs are wired straight-through from the type-C without any USB 3.0 hub IC to allow for the integrated SD card reader to operate at 3.0 speeds. There is however a USB 2.0 hub IC that allows for a USB 2.0 or 1.1 device plugged into the type-A port to work at the same time as the SD card reader.

Very well built, works with OTG Samsung devices, very fast transfer speeds!
Very well made product, all of the ports / connectors have a nice firm feel when used, the exterior is hard-wearing aluminium, as is the cap that fits very firmly over the USB C connector. I use it to connect to my Samsung Galaxy S8 & it performs flawlessly. It has a USB 3 socket built in, so I can connect literally anything to my phone via USB cable, it reads Micro SD & Standard SD Cards and does so as fast as reading a card that's inserted directly into the phones built in slot. Very impressed with the overall usability & build quality, especially at this low price! An absolute bargain, cannot recommend highly enough!
