Schottky with a correct current rating. (about 1 amp for these. 2.5w @5v = .5amp) Schottky will have a lower voltage drop than a standard rectifier diode.

Q: What short circuit current are you guys actually seeing on these? I cannot get anything higher than 18mA on any of the 4 panels I have in direct sun
