Great Picture Quality
I am using this for distributing my security system HDMI video. It was basically plug and play hookup, so it was very east to install. The video quality is excellent and is sending clear video throughout my residence to carious monitors. Yes, I am sending the signal through a splitter to different rooms over basic coax cable. It sends the signal just like a regular over the air digital TV signal so my TV's had no issue accepting the signal. This is an expensive product but it certainly blows lesser priced options out of the water. If you want a clear, HD quality signal this is the product to use.

DO NOT BUY - NOT COMPATIBLE WITH ALL TVs AND ISSUES WITH HDMI SOURCES
This satlink st-7000 fails to connect to most common hdmi sources and after some hours it turns the picture to purple or static and the only solution it to power it off and on. Tried to upgrade to the latest firmware and it does the same. Sometimes it just goes to black screen, no audio or distorted audio. Also the Quality of the signal is not good as it cannot reach all my TVs so you need to install an amplifier, but the biggest problem is the compatibility with the American TV Standard as some of my TVs cannot either find this channel. After 3 days i returned this item. Very frustrated. Do not buy.

Setup was a breeze
So far so good, its only been running a few days so we will see as others here have complained that it failed in short order. But others have also said grainy picture, and difficult set up.Yet the setup was so simple! I plugged it into my network went to the IP address and set the configuration. The one guy complaining about grainy picture, did you try a signal amplifier? the first TV had a great picture, the one on the other side of the house was grainy. I put in an amplifier before my distribution switch and whala, beautiful picture everywhere. This is radio frequency running down coax, the further it travels and the more splits the more signal degradation you will observe, therefore the more amplification you will need to provide. Too high of power = problem, too low of power = problem. you have to balance your down stream based on your usage. It does give you the option of changing the output power between 70 and 100 DBuV. you get it too high and your drown out other signals, too low and you'll get a crappy picture. 100 was killing other channels 75 is working great for me.The only negative I can report thus far is that it has no option to handle overscan, and it cuts the very edge of the image off. you don't notice it when movies are playing in full screen but I am pushing a computer over it and it cuts the edges of the start bar and edges off. not a deal breaker but just so others are aware.but it is a beautiful 1080P picture, much better quality than I anticipated.

Second time is a charn
The first one I recieved apparently did not work properly and failed within minutes of being installed. The replacement unit was up and running with very little effort or time. These are a little pricey, but I'm considering at least one more for our external security cameras. I know it's a little on the old school side in concept, but it's simple and easy to use. We already have lots app based content, but it's nice to have this option to broadcast our on content throughout the house. Picture quality is great, but limited to our content and 1080p. Which is basically a channel for old movies.

Works Ok with minimum's
I use this modulator along with a B0976L5C7B. Both modulators have HDMI inputs along with old style video input and stereo audio. The B0976L5C7B is older style analog while the SatLink ST-7000 is the new style ATSC (havn't done much with QAM (J.83B)).A large new style tv shows a large quality difference. The SatLink ST-7000 display's a picture like a HDMI input from the HDMI generation device (I am using a RPI 3B+ and a RPI Zero (1) to generate the HDMI).I have yet to get the SatLink ST-7000 to pass a 5.1 audio signal. The one attempt to use a WD Live to generate a 5.1 audio signal resulted in no audio at all. The RPI's normally convert 5.1 to stereo so that keeps audio working and it DOES seem to be at least Stereo (it says Dolby on the TV).The SatLink ST-7000 has a network interface for programming remotely but the options for Program Title, Program Details & Rating can't be programmed to the downstream TV's (I wrote the company and was told that couldn't be done). The little Screen shows setup if you want to use it and might be better used if after programming would switch to the running broadcast, it just turns OFF now.I took a chance with the SatLink ST-7000 over the VECOAX MINIMOD-2 and other's that cost 2X over the SatLink ST-7000 and I feel the money saved is GOOD! 5.1 sound seems to be a feature missing from all ATSC modulator's at $500 or less as far as I can tell.I normally mix the SatLink ST-7000 with my TV antenna in the attic and I run its output a 70 dBuV which is 1 up from minimum (100 dBuV is Max)NOTE: The IP interface slow's down considerably from time to time normally after some programming change.

Love this unit, but be aware of a caveat with a HD Homerun
I purchased this modulator so I could add a "channel" for my CCTV cameras to my OTA antenna feed. I'm using a Raspberry Pi to display a web page from the DVR in full-screen kiosk mode. It worked great for a TV connected to the combined feed, but I could not get my HD Homerun to display the channel. It would detect the channel, but would give an error when trying to display it in the app. After reaching out to Silicondust support, I learned that it requires both audio AND video on a channel in order to display a channel. It turns out that I had the audio muted on the Rpi. Once I set the volume to a non-zero value on the source, it worked perfectly. I just wanted anyone else who might have a similar need to be aware of this, and not think that it's a problem with the Satlink. Love this thing!
