2 micron is great for filtering microbes ("algae") out of the fuel
Today's injectors are very high tolerance, so it pays to filter your fuel well. The filter is what is needed if you have fine contaminants or microbes growing in your diesel. I would use a 10-30 micron prefilter.The actual filter construction I am underwhelmed with. I followed the installation instructions to the letter, and the side walls crushed slightly in tightening it. I have never had that happen installing a filter before. Be careful.
