Rougelike with a souls flare
*As of Jun. 4th the game has been patched to make solo less of a painful experience.**As of right now there is only solo play and 3 person groups, with duo groups supposedly coming later down the line.Nightreign is first and foremost a rougelike. This is not Elden ring with modified gameplay, this is a new rougelike with a souls/elden ring flare over it. Over the course of three days you will grow stronger, find treasures, and fight bosses in hopes of defeating the main last boss of the run. Every run is a full reset outside of equippable relics that give you advantages. As a pure solo player I can say this: I love playing this game but it is very very difficult. That difficulty however is why I was drawn to this game in the first place as rougelikes are always about overcoming to get that perfect run- every run is a bit more knowledge gained, a new hit on a boss that you couldnt scratch before, a new enemy defeated, a new moveset learned, etc. This is where the decision is on Nightreign: if you want more souls/elden ring you should look elsewhere, if you want a challenging rougelike with a soulslike/elden coat of paint this game delivers 100%.

Elden Ring Nightreign
i see people complaining about this game but yall need to know this is a rouge like game, not a full story mode game. If you have friends to play with, this game is for you, but if you don’t then good luck playing solo or with randoms🤷♀️ (I’ve had a pretty good experience with randoms) and people giving it one star or saying it’s bad suck at the game lmaooo

This game is such a huge disappointment.
This game is such a huge disappointment. Save your money and do a full speed run thru of any random area of the regular version of Eldenring and then delete all of your progress and try it again that’s the concept of this game. I’m a huge fan of dark souls and eldenring but this game stinks. They should have made another add on to the original game

Not a good Souls game
-The rogue elements were not done well.-The upgrades and power ups are weak.-Some bosses are overdone, things like their health pool, blinding particle effects, and movement across the map.-Solo isn’t balanced well.-Completion rewards are mediocre.-Luck based gameplay and difficulty.-Multiplayer is frustrating half of the time with people not working as a team.-Rushing around a game on a timer isn’t ideal for entertainment. Especially in a Souls game.-Fun should be the priority for entertainment, then challenge is absolutely fine when applicable. Challenge was prioritized. Some of the past Souls appeal was the environment. Taking in visuals, sounds, and atmosphere. That’s not happening much when rushing around on an unknown timer.I did complete most of the bosses, but the solo gameplay not being well thought out was a deal breaker. It was more frustrating than fun, although doable with practice. Additionally, the multiplayer is just too flawed, too chaotic, and doesn’t work well enough to be considered a fun way to spend my time.2 stars for a Souls game, sad. Should have released Bloodborne 2 or Dark Souls 4.

Better than you'd be lead to believe
This game is simply not meant to be played solo, it is a multiplayer rougelike with elden ring flavor. Somehow many people didn't understand that and hate on it but for what it is, it is AMAZING! Some of the most fun Fromsoft multiplayer and I've co-opped all their other titles to date.

Very fun once you understand it's not just more Elden Ring
Nightreign is fun as long as you understand that it is not just more Elden Ring. Elden Ring (and other games) are the theme and base mechanics, but it's very different. As a longtime FromSoft fan, this game was a bit overwhelming at first. The speed of it was a shock, because I generally take my time and poke around in every corner of the map. Nightreign isn't that kind of game. You have to plan on the fly and prioritize objectives. But now I'm enjoying the loop because it's a great challenge. RNG can be cruel and it can be kind, and often times success or failure hinges on such things, but that's what keeps it interesting. Nothing like popping an Ancient Dragon out of an Evergaol on day 1!The different classes all play very differently and the remembrance system is a good one to encourage people to not just main one class. Class balance is a factor to some degree but it depends on the nightlord in question. There's no rigid meta (yet) and it was a great idea to not enable in-game chat. Also a great idea to punish rage-quitters with a cooldown, although I think it is too heavy handed when there are network errors.Gameplay wise my two biggest complaints are the way the resurrection bars are inaccurately represented (3 bars isn't 3x the effort of 1 bar) and the fact that shifting earth notifications disappear after beating the last boss.

Great Game
The game is absolutely great, if you look at the other souls games there's a good amount of bad reviews from nerds who couldnt get anywhere cause the game was hard so they gave it a low rating, this is a spin-off game so there's a bunch of reused assets but it is not just elden ring, give it a try

Absolutely peak
Goong in I knew it would be experimental for Fromsoftware but i had and still have faith in them. Not only is this game good, but it is also so much fun to play
