OREI 4x1 KVM HDMI Seamless Switch Multiviewer, Share Multiple Devices, PC, Computers, Phones, Gaming on One Display Monitor, Keyboard Control and USB 3.0 Peripheral Control

This is a great KVM Extender for a small home/office rack setup. I hung the KVM sender vertically off the back of a 4 post rack using the included mounting tabs and used the included USB cables and 2ft HDMI cables to connect to each of the PCs in the rack. The package comes with a DC power supply for the sending unit, but you probably won't need it because the sending unit can draw power from the USB cables connected to the PCs. However, you will need to use one of the included power supplies for the receiving unit. The USB port on the sending unit appears as a USB Hub to the connected PCs, so your mouse or whatever else you connect to the receivers ports will show as devices connected to a hub. The shared keyboard/etc disconnect from the previous hub and reconnect to the new hub when you switch between PCs, so you may see USB messages each time you switch sources depending on your operating system. It takes a few seconds to sync/negotiate the connection (HDMI and USB) each time you switch devices, but nothing excessive. I tried the unit with three different lengths of CAT6 cable (one cable was of questionable quality). The longest cable I tested successfully was 50 feet. The questionable cable caused the video to flicker with distorted blocks, so if you have these problems you need to replace the Ethernet cable. For a long run, I would probably use a shielded Ethernet cable to prevent interference. I didn't notice any latency in the video or mouse movements. The remote control is a nice touch, and works well, but you do need to point it at the front of the receiver for it to work properly. I highly recommend this product if you have multiple PCs you want to control from a single location.

This is a very excellent product! It comes very well packed and secured. Everything is 100% as described in the ad. The quality of this is very excellent as well. This is definitely very heavy duty and durable. It has some weight to it as well. This functions just as it should and my husband was able to get this fully hooked up with everything that we wanted. I love that this is a four device option. Everything works as it should in my husband said if you know what you were doing it is beyond simple to set up. I would say this is 100% true to the ad and a nice quality product! I was very impressed! Definitely worth every penny in quality alone! Works as it should with no flickering or distortion. 10/10

The media could not be loaded. The product works with the feature it describe, however, there are couple issues for me:1. When first power on, my hdmi output wasn't detecting the KVM device, it took awhile and i had to keep pressing random buttons from the device and I guess between the button auto and res solve the issue for me after. (Nothing in the manual talks about this).2. For the share keyboard and mouse feature it does work to switch between hosts and screen share to move the mouse like multiple monitor across different hosts, HOWEVER, if one host contain multiple monitor, the KVM will not detect the extra monitor and it the screen will freeze up when sharing the keyboard and mouse, and sometime the mouse wont even appear on the extra monitor from the individual host.3. Every once a while the shared display from the KVM will flash on and off like not enough power through.Overall, this multiple device monitor share works, but there are some limitation, it works best for individual device that using single monitor which is connecting to the KVM, i dont recommend for a device using this KVM as an extra monitor output.

My main workstations are located in a noisy computer room environment. I have to wear hearing protection and a sweatshirt when I work in there! For the past few years I've been using a remote KVM extender, but as I've upgraded equipment, it's working well beyond its specs. It's past time to update.OREI 4x1 KVM 4K HDMI Over Ethernet Extender Switcher Balun has a lot of advantages over my previous setup. It works over a single Cat 6 cable. My old one required two ethernet cables. And that was for much lower video resolution, at 1920 x 1200. The OREI can pass 4k HDMI. EDID passthrough is supported so your signal should match your monitor.The old box didn't have KVM sharing capabilities, so I had to switch computers by going into the computer room to select which one to use at the moment. The OREI is designed to switch between four computers from the remote unit, making it much less effort for me. You can select the computer via front panel button, infrared remote, or RS232.The OREI only supports USB 1.1, so it's suitable for keyboards and pointing devices but not other USB devices, which must be connected locally at the computers. I had to use analog audio with the old setup, and at first was concerned that I wouldn't be able to pass audio with this setup. But then I realized that the HDMI is fully supported, including audio, so it's actually far more flexible than my old setup.The product description says that there is a 3.5 mm Stereo Audio Out - Receiver lets you extract audio to analog speaker or headphone, but that doesn't appear to be the case. There is no 3.5 mm audio connector.Despite the minor drawbacks -- USB 1.1 support only -- the higher resolution video, ability to switch among computers locally, and single Cat 6 cable for connection make it a great solution.

They are always great quality. One of the best things about their items is that each item has a dedicated video where an Orei employee goes over the features of the item and explains exactly how to set it up. Priceless.I needed to extend 2 PCs, so this is working great for me.Great build quality, as usual. Don't skimp on the ethernet cables when setting this up.Works great.
