5/2025- I’m a couple of weeks in, and weekend trip, so I figured now is a good time for my initial review. I am careful with my money and always thought these were just too expensive considering they just deal with poo. My little brother, love him, does kind of take care of them when I travel, but the litter job is NOT his favorite. Who could blame him? I finally decided it was time to try the LR for my poor brother of course. It came packaged as if it was going to be delivered via parachute. I got it about a month before my first trip and I’ve been using the LR4 with the Boxie Pro litter - I’m totally wowed! I found that I am not buying litter as often, the trash I am taking out weekly (before prompted to empty) is lighter, and it takes no time to clean it. I have two grown cats who find the LR entertaining, but have taken to it with no accidents (one is just shy of wild and both were feral rescues). I LOVE that I am not sifting two boxes multiple times a day. I have it in my bedroom and I have noticed there is less smell and dust. I think the mat helps with the litter tracking. Those items alone are a win. I’m sure some of that is also the litter type. It doesn’t make a lot of noise unless the “leavings” are heavier. It usually doesn’t wake me up. It does have a led interior light, so I have positioned it so that doesn’t annoy me at night, but you can probably turn it off. My babies are curious, so many of the clean cycles were interrupted, but it always stopped by the motion detector so they weren’t harmed or scared to use. I just took a long weekend away and I didn’t have to call someone to come by and clean the box!!! I bought Petlibro RFID feeders and the water fountain, so I didn’t have to ask ANYONE to swing by. So if YOU are the one who gets called for cat doody duty, maybe you should recommend these contraptions (or just charge the pet parents money so they stop asking). If I have any negatives, I will update. None so far. I never EVER thought I’d say it, but it was worth the money.Bonus: I bought the LR package with the ramp, mat, extra bags and cleaner. I also ended up buying the carpet tray and litter hopper from their website since Amazon doesn’t carry them. They were quick to ship and so far worth it for weight tracking and adding to the hands-off litter maintenance with the hopper adding clean litter when needed. It is smaller than two top entry boxes, but about the same when the ramp and hopper are included. I am considering if the ramp is necessary since they seem not to use it often. I used white shutters I found at the Habitat Restore to camouflage, but may check into the LR furniture in the future.

This a good cat box. I ready many reviews before finally buying. I am glad I did. I do have one little thing I do not like but it is still 5 stars. I read on soke reviews here their litter guard would be knocked off by cats. Same with my cats. One can get anywhere and not knock anything down. Both of my cats keep knocking it down. However just take it off and it is fine. Bearly any litter comes out even without the guard. This was very easy to set up. Works great. People say it takes two weeks to switch cats from regular box to this one. Nope. As soon as I set up litter robot I threw others away. My cats took to it instantly. No smell comes out if it. If you were like me and took a year to think about buying one, do it. It is worth it.

I was a bit worried when buying this but it has exceeded all expectations, it is one of the best devices I have bought and makes life so much easier, if you have the money to spend I very much recommend it.It helps prevent bad smells, it is very quiet when running, and it even has a light inside of it for night time. Furthermore it is very easy to clean, you just take the bag out and throw it away and put a new bag in, and all done.

Not as convenient as I thought it would be because I spend time daily either resetting or cleaning.I do not wish to download an app to have notifications sent to me about my cats use in a litter box. I have a work phone only. With that said, the litter robot 4 will stop functioning due to not being set up with onboarding. So, my spouse decided to use their phone and set it up today. All the steps were followed and the app won’t work because it doesn’t believe our Wi-Fi password is correct. Well if that was the case we would not be able to operate several functions of our home because my techno wizard spouse has a few things through an app that we use daily. I didn’t want to pile on so I never mentioned to my spouse that this litter robot 4 can tell you when the cat does its business. Until today when once again the litter robot 4 decided to go on strike flashing yellow to connect. I have had the system for a month. I adopted another cat literally 3 weeks ago and yes, made the purchase in anticipation of another fur friend after a loss a month earlier of a senior cat.The cat was stuck once and freaked out because it cycled when she was in it and she is about 11 pounds. I had to put a regular box out for her until she felt comfortable again. She is brave and was willing to give it an another shot.I have to reset or turn off and back on at least twice a week for the flashing yellow light to stopAnd last night it didn’t cycle at all because the flashing yellow light went off in the middle of the night. My cat used the litter and the dog cleaned it out for me this morning. What a great way to wake up this morning. 😡So it was easier to just scoop twice a day and replace the litter weekly for the 30 plus years I had cats and litter boxes.I was hoping to clean it out every other day and replace litter weekly making it less of a burden for pet sitters when we occasionally go away for 2-3 daysThat’s it reallyMy spouse thinks I’m crazy for spending $1,000+with extra supplies for something that has not performed as well as expected and now I’m beginning to regret.I am so afraid the litter robot 4 will stop when in use or not cycle when we are away for 2 days.Not the peace of mind I wanted.Luckily my cat will still use the regular litter box in another location in the event this litter robot 4 is an epic failure.Sigh…………….

Download the manual, get the ladder if you have older cats, it will be easier for them to get in.I wish I had bought this sooner. The litter robot is very sturdy and easy to set up.
