Great for sun protection in Florida or any tropical location. I wore it every day in the Galapagos Islands. Lightweight, doesn't take up much space in luggage. Strap keeps it on your head in windy conditions.

This hat has been good for protecting my head and neck from the sun. The flap in back covers my neck without being too warm. The brim is longer than my old hat, so that's probably better at protecting my face. However, the brim isn't flat. It was sort of wavy when I got it, and I tried to flatten it by setting heavy objects on it. That didn't really work, and it can make it hard to see sometimes. I do not really like the way it fits. I think the depth of the top of the hat is less than my previous garden hat, so it doesn't feel like it's secure on my head. It hasn't blown off, but I definitely think the chin strap is necessary when it's windy. I'm still giving it 3 stars because there's nothing really wrong with the hat or the quality. I just think I will use it for a couple months and then try to find something else.
