While doing some research, I read about Huperzine A. My mom had been experiencing some mild cognitive impairment, so I ordered some to give it a try. I'm really glad I did! Mom has been taking it for several months, and it works really well.On occasion I found that mom benefitted a 2nd dose. Because of that, I order the 200mcg tablets for her. Source Naturals brand Huperzine is $12 for bottles of 120 count 100mcg tablets and it's $20 for bottles of 120 count bottles of 200mcg tablets. One bottle lasts for 4 months. It's such a small price to pay for something that has such positive and noticeable effects on cognitive health and mom's sense of balance. The tablets are very small, round tablets, that are beige in color, and are very easy for mom to swallow.I definitely recommend Huperzine A to anyone experiencing minor age related cognitive impairment, forgetfulness, or balance issues.Highly Recommended!

Works great been taking for quite a while now.

I bought this supplement for my 95 year old mother who has aphasia and severe dementia. She is taking a number of supplements, but this one was added in the last 4 weeks in addition to a couple of others. The first week, we were giving her 2 a day - one morning and one evening. We noticed that she was sleeping more and seemed less aware of things around her. I did more research and found out that this supplement may have been causing the decline. So we stopped giving it to her for a couple of days, and then resumed giving it to her only once a day. Really, I don't know why I was giving her two a day when the bottle suggests only 1 per day. I generally give no more than the recommended dosage.At any rate, in the last week or so, we have been seeing a lot of improvement. Her comprehension seems better, and she is starting to say a lot more words and phrases. She is also doing much better at eating on her own using silverware. Although the improvements are not earth-shattering, they are still improvements developing at a time when everyone in the medical profession are telling me she will have a steady decline. I can't honestly say that this supplement alone is causing the improvement, but it is one of the most recently added. It is also possible that it is working in conjunction with other supplements we are giving her.I am still a firm believer that dementia and Alzheimer's are not an end-all. If the brain is given what it needs to rebuild itself, it will. It's just a matter of figuring out what an individual's brain needs. This is definitely not an easy task, and medical professionals are definitely not helpful or supportive.

I didn't notice and improvements after using this- others might find it does work- but evidently it doesn't affect whatever is causing me issues healthwise- Not the product's fault though, so giving it a 4 rating- I'm sure it helps for specific problems-

My 18 year old dog's dementia suddenly increased to the point that he was obsessively walking around to the right in circles all of the time. He didn't seem oriented to what was around him and didn't seem to see or smell anything on the left. He didn't even react when I put canned dog food in front of him. My vet recommended Huperzine A and I also found online that apoaequorin helps dogs with dementia, so I am giving him Neutricks treats with apoaequorin. He is like a different dog! He's not circling at all anymore. He has more energy than he's had in about 10 years. He is still having some issues with being housebroken, but even that is much better. We added 2 drops of CBD and his arthritis is so much better now that he's running and bouncing around the yard like a puppy. I read that Huperzine A is good for people's memories, so I tried it at the 200 mcg dose. I didn't have the same effects. I felt like it made it harder for me to concentrate. But my husband tried it and feels that he can think more clearly throughout the day. I think the effects vary depending on the person. I had previously tried apoaequorin in Prevagen. I felt I focused better, but it made me irritable. However, a friend of mine felt it made her memory much better with no side effects. You have to try things and see what works for you.

Bought this after learning how it helps with my myasthenia gravis from other patients. Had a mixup with pharmacy and was out of my pyridostigmine pills and need them to survive. Took my first pill in morning and was delighted the effects were better than the RX and less side effects! Plus these last 12 hrs vs taking my Rx every 4 hrs around the clock. Thank you!

Huperzine improved recall & processing. I need it for memorize for my board exam and I take it during the time a study. Excellent, Excellent, Excellent. Dramatically improved you memory, reading comprehension went through the roof for me, maybe no like Ritalin, but I can tell you it work. Watch for side effect if you take more than 200mg, all depend of you body weight. I recommend start from low dose, like 100mg and you can increase to 200mg after 4 to 5 day.So any "placebo effect" could have, but if this is the case, then...welcome. Cientific clinical trial have been runing with no conclusion yet, so it is safe to take this medication.But as a physician I can tell you this: A 2013 meta-analysis found that huperzine A may be efficacious in improving cognitive function, global clinical status, and activities of daily living for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease... Now is your turn to decide.

I noticed a slight difference in memorizing things. I stacked it with Vitamin b12 & L-Theanine, and caffeine. I think it goes very well with the three.
