The media could not be loaded. Used a number of CarPlay adapters over the past 12 months and to be honest this is adapter an expensive option to add wireless CarPlay functionality compared to others on the market, yes it has AirPlay mirroring compared to other dual OS wireless adapters however the AirPlay feature is far from stable…and is very limited on supported use.Adapter is stable for CarPlay, no disconnections, fairly quick startup times (though most adapters are in 10-15 seconds loading time) and has excellent audio quality however one of the main selling points of this adapter is mirroring…so you can view videos on the larger screen in your car dashboard (when your car is parked and not being driven I hasten to add). Fiddly to get AirPlay working, eventually resorted to turning off CarPlay feature for the adapter under Bluetooth to stop it remaining in an auto connecting loop. Once AirPlay is running it does not support streaming Apple Media from AppleTV (nothing mentioned in the instructions)…as soon as you start to play a film from the AppleTV app the adapter just disconnects without warning (even if film/show is downloaded locally to the phone)…the ability to play films/shows on the larger car screens is the idea of mirroring and most people would tend to use their AppleTV purchases or subscriptions. Works for locally stored mp4 files and/or videos on your camera roll but there is noticeable lag on the video during playback.Overall seems overpriced for the mirroring feature which is well and truly lacking in use for iPhone; other adapters handle CarPlay/Android Auto just as well but in price ranges well under the £110 price tag from Ottoadapter.

It does make a huge differnce not having to faff about putting your phone into wherever you need to have it plugged in to get Android Auto/Apple Carplay up and running. There are a ot of cars on the road tht have the wired feature but not the wireless.This really does make my life a little bit less hassle by giving me the wirelss option.Conneciton is simple as described and once connected it just works with no fuss. As claimed reconnection times are not immensley long but it is still awkard when entering the car whilst still on a call.The steering wheel controls work to navigate and move around the system. I dont know what other peoples experiences are like but I do notice a tiny bit of lag but its not enough to ruin the experience. I definitely wouldnt be wihtout it now that Ive had a chance to use it in a car that only has wired android auto.The Otto does command a bit more of a premium compared to many others avaibale in teh market wiht similar features but as long as the long term durabilty of the item holds up its not a deal breaker. 'cheaper' electronic devices have a penchant for working well until they dont.

This is a good and reliable solution for a wireless connection in my car as it takes away all the hassle of plugging my phone every time I start my car.The actual setup of this device is simple, it is a plug and play solution requiring just connecting it to the USB port in the car without any extra installations or skills. I will be surprised by the fact how fast it connects with my phone and each time after I start the car, it takes about 10 seconds for my phone to connect automatically with the car system.This is more than connecting my phone, it also allows me to mirror the screen on my existing carplay display and because it has both Wi-Fi tools connected, it makes the operation stable and smooth throughout the whole drive.The actual design is quite interesting, even though it's small it fits any car design making it a convenient addition.With my Mercedes it works just fine but with my BMW no way because the usb is not recognised. Contacted the company, they told me it is not compatible with BMW. I just dont understand why they dont mention somewhere instead of having a BMW and realising this product will not work.For BMW owners, this is a waste of time, it will not work.
