Wiring Not Correct For My HP EliteDesk, but easily modified
For my son's 14th birthday, I wanted to get him a killer gaming rig without breaking the bank. I found an HP EliteDesk (i7) for a great price and a GeForce 1060 that came with FREE 600 watt power supply (so it can actually work). As we were assembling the rig, we found that the power supply was ATX but that the HP motherboard is some proprietary connection (really just annoying HP...).I looked up the schematics online of how to make the two connect but the parts (if I didn't want to pay too much) would not arrive from China until next month making his B-Day not as happy. So, on a whim, I searched Amazon and amazingly found this product. It was reasonably priced, so I ordered it.When it arrived we quickly ripped out the 180 watt PS and put in the 3D card and 600 watt ps and attached it up using this converter...the computer no like. We were quite saddened, then I thought...hey it's probably just wrong for our machine, I verified that the image on Amazon matched our actual wiring we received, and then looked up the schematic again. To our delight, the wires were just not in the right place for our MB, so using a small pin, I compressed (gently) and removed all four power wires from the clip and then clipped them back into the connector in the order our MB needed them to be.It worked! This little device saved me a few hours of soldering and heat shrinking as well as my son's B-Day present!Look at my photo if you find that you bought this and your computer be like...NOPE!Thanks EXSync!

Didn’t work for us
Bought a 1660 ti for my nephews computer. Knew it needed a power source thought this would remedy it. It did not work. Even tried the wire pattern switch based on model.:( I don’t believe the product was faulty at all. It’s just that HP desktops are a pain to upgrade with its proprietary components. I returned it. I’m giving 4 stars because it was nicely packaged and it’s not the sellers fault HP is behind the game. Ultimately we just went for a custom build ,and we made darn sure made sure it was upgradable for the future.

This works great..mostly
I bought an old HP Elite 8300 because the mobo has the same 2 6pin connectors. This kit works, but it needs the wires rearranged on the P2 connector. In its stock form it comes G,Y,R,B which are incorrect for the 8300 MB. It should really go Y,R,B,G. Then it works great!
