Graham Slee PSU1 Linear Audio Power Supply (Upgrade)

I always approach hi-fi upgrades with some trepidation as to whether they are actually going to make any audible difference. Well this one does make difference . Basically tightens and cleans up the sound. No idea why. Also polarity change on the power cord helped.

It certainly improves the clarity and punch from the Gram Amp 2. The one issue for me is how much of a difference changing the polarity of the power chord makes. Fitting it one way and the mid range clarity is excellent, but it adds a nasty top range harshness that I can't listen to. The other way up and the bass is excellent, but some of the mid and top range detail is lost. It is a worthwhile upgrade but it is odd that how you fit the power cable makes such a massive difference. What I don't know, and something I wish I had considered, is I have spent a total of £360 on the Gram Amp 2 and this power supply, but would spending the same amount on a different phono stage have resulted in a better sound? I can't give this 5 stars as in my view it isn't perfect. If you already have a Graham Slee phono stage it's probably worthwhile. If you don't have a phono stage yet and you're considering spending around £400, I suggest you carefully consider your options.

It seems to give more clarity and weight to the gram amp 2 which was already a very good mm phono stage. I would recommend this.
