Q: Can I use the book with the Leapreader pen?

I don't have the leapreader pen but the books seem specific to the leapstart in how information is downloaded. Might check the leapfrog website to be sure.

Q: Does this 3d book work on a non 3d leapstart player? the question has been asked twice and not answered correctly. i have an old leapstart player.

According to leapfrog.com, "Books with LeapStart™ 3D logo feature animations on the LeapStart™ 3D system only." So, the 3D books play audio on the older LeapStart system but will not have the 3D animations. I have not tested this personally yet. Q: Is this an item that would work well for a toddler on an airplane or is it too loud?

If you are allowed to have it on the airplane (since it takes batteries, I'm not sure if it's allowed) it would be great as entertainment on an airplane since you can turn the volume down. If you have enough books it would be great.

Q: Will the leap start kindergarten books work with the leapstart PreK system?

Yes all books will work with either system

Frustrating and limited

Not a fan of this one. These issues are common in all these books but they seem more frequent in this one. There are several games where you only get to try once and then have to select the green button to do it again. You have to sit through the instructions fully. For example there is a game where you select the upper case letter and then the matching lower case. You get to do this just once and then have to sit through the instructions all over again. The selection itself doesn’t take long so I’m not sure why it just doesn’t go back to asking you to select another upper case letter. This is just one example, several other games do this.The other frustrating thing is the game will just cut you off and make you start over if you miss what it is asking you. This in itself is fine but some of the games are fickle and you need to select a very small zone to get a positive response. So if your child is selecting around this zone trying to click the spot then it’ll just make you start over after a few misses. Kid gets confused because now they think they’ve selected incorrectly.
