New York Hi-Viz Workwear BFSH4511 High-Visibility Class 3 T-Shirt, Parents

(For the northern hemisphere people scratching their heads saying "it is summer?" -- not here in Brisbane… it briefly got to 21°C but has been upper teens most of the day.)I bought two 3XL-sized shirts, a little larger than I'd normally get but I wanted it to be 'loose' to avoid heat build-up in summer, as I feel we'll be in for a vicious summer when it reaches the Southern Hemisphere. Fit is good, considering the +1 size (I'm normally a 2XL). The hood is comfortable and tracks my head well, although it can have a tendency to flop into ones eyes, so you'll want to wear a cap underneath it.Coming from the sun cancer capital of the world, I'm surprised more work shirts aren't made hooded like this one. The hood is corded, and thus adjustable, although some OH&S people may not like the cords hanging down if you work around rotating machinery. (This can probably be mitigated by some small modifications to let the hood cords hang *inside* the shirt if this is a problem.)The reflectors look good -- someone needs to perhaps tweak things around the pocket as the pocket blocks some of the reflective tape, but that'd be my only big gripe. (That or maybe omit the pocket altogether -- some OH&S people don't like pockets on those shirts as workers sometimes put "heavy" items in there that stretch the shirts and cause them to get caught up.)The weight of the material is very light, I'd say about half that of other (non-hooded) work shirts I have of a similar design.Interestingly "New York Workwear" but Made in China. It'd be nice to see a bit of geographic diversity in our manufacturing, but that'll take time I guess.

Finally, a safety shirt that's not to short or tight where the reflective bands are. Cost a little more than some of the others but I'll pay it again just for these features.

They're more comfortable and dry quicker than other hi-viz shirts. Nice fit. Coffee stains will need to be treated to get them out, when you forget to fully tighten the lid on your thermos.

Longevity of the stitching is questionable, but hey it's a work shirt so don't expect it to last year to year. I have two short sleeve versions that have made it 6 months, the reflection is still good, no holes, minor stitching issues but good value for what it is.
