Thanks for the enquiry. I suppose you could but it is 7 colour process printing. I would imagine you use solid/single colours so the Pantone Formula Guide would be better.

Angie, Thanks for the enquiry, the manufacturer has sent the below reply, hope this helps; "I would recommend the Pantone Plus Series guides, either the Formula Guide or Color Bridge guides. This would depend on if they are printing in CMYK (Color Bridge) or Solid/spot (Formula Guides) for the decals. This way the color numbers coordinate between the printed guide and the plastic chips." Q: Does this include browns and greys?

Yes. This guide will contain browns and gray colors. The Pantone Extended Gamut guide is based on printing in 7 Color Process (CMYK+OGV) and best achieving the Pantone Solid (spot) colors in this method of printing. By adding Orange, Green and Violet color separations, the gamut (range) of colors that are achievable becomes larger and more accurate. Many of the Pantone Solid (spot) colors are outside of the range of achievability with 4 Color Process printing (CMYK). As technology has advanced, many printers/presses have the ability to have more than just 4 colors (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black) separations and the Extended Gamut guide is based on these presses for users that wish to use CMYK+OGV. CMYK printing has its limitations in colors that it can reproduce only about 55% of our Solid Colors (PMS) can be hit in CMYK Printing (within normal print industry tolerances). By having the ability to add further separations to CMYK it extends the range color achievability.

Good for a photoshoot

I bought it for a photoshoot as a brand designer, worked well. Adds colour to your promo photos. Also, handy when looking for good colours to try for your client's brands. I'm sure it's handy when meeting clients but due to the current situation, most meetings are online. Recommended.
