Works for older mini splits without dc inverters.
Got this for my ancient Pioneer mini split A/C. There is no diagram for hooking it up to these types of units, so it took a little experimentation, but it works perfect. I can now run this 1k watt a/c on my off-grid battery system with no inverter tripping issues. Only been a day of use, but so far, so good.

Get the right wiring diagram
works great when installed according to specific instructions for your air conditioner. Don't assume the instructions that come in the box will work. The manufacturer has links on their website for your specific ac. Amazon was great to replace the first one at no charge.

Works well, instructions could be a bit better. Good value.
Works well, have been running continuously for about a week now. Package includes a link to the particular AC Brand and model number instructions online (great!). For the Coleman Mach 8, some peculiarities in the wiring instructions need some clarity or a re-write. (Almost good). The area marked in yellow has three notes, in my case read all, then read 5 more times - it’s essentially a splitter that needs removing and connection directly to the board. Trust the wiring diagram they include. If the instructions were crystal clear, I’d rate 5-stars as it is a fairly simple process once you’re able to understand the exact steps.

Reduced start-up amp draw by half!
adding solar to my RV. This reduced the start-up amp draw from 34 down to 17 or so. Best of all -- my AC still works!! Super easy install but be sure it will physically (size) fit under the cover before ordering. (a bit larger than I was expecting)

Not working with Furrion AC units
Bought two and one seems to work. I have 13.5k and 15k Furrion Chill HE AC Units . Installed on the 15K first and it worked to begin with, but then went into fail state during the half hour learning/break in period. I reached out to Briidea support and all I got was a response that "it seems overloaded". After a couple days and I went back to troubleshoot and it started working. To be honest not sure the soft start is doing anything, but the AC is at least cooling. I installed on the 13.5k and could not get it to work. Not sure I am sold on the Soft Start concept, but if you want to try I would recommend trying more well known brand.

Very good instructions.
This product is fantastic. If you go to Briidias website and download the information you will be all set. My unit is a dometic 14k btu. The wiring schematic is perfect along with the directions. Some folks gave a review with false information. First of all the unit under the compressor cover is not a Start Capacitor but rather an Overlimit (OL) device. This device will open the compressor circuit if the compressor overheats and is their for compressor protection. Do not remove and bypass as some suggest unless you want a compressor to destroy itself if it overheats. After following the wiring information my unit worked as soon as started.

Good luck getting tech help!
The instructions are so-so, on my Dometics the first 5 steps were fine, the 6th made no sense. I figured I'll call tech support. Looked through everything, looked online... no phone number anywhere. All you have is a live chat, ok, good enough. I sent a message at 415 pm EST, site says support is open until 6 EST. No response. An hr later I gave up and called an electrician friend, he made an educated guess what they meant and it worked. At 820, 4 hrs later, they responded!!.As far as the soft start... I have a 13,500 and a 15,000 dometic. With a pair of 2500w inverter gens in parallel I could only run 1. Now with the soft starts I can run both just fine. They would get 5 star for the product but dropped to 3 because of customer service and instructions.

IT WORKS!
GOOD PART : Item works well as stated . 2000 honda generator would not run dometic AC unit ( would over load ) . installed soft start 2-3 hours . Install was not 2 complicated . MUST watch videos . Honda gen ran AC fine 2 hrs in heat NO PROBLEM .BAD part : did not come with double sided tape as stated & seen in videos which made mounting & placement hard in such a confined space. Had to mount with screws (provided ) but very hard to drill pilot holes due to space in mount location . Provided crimp connections were Yellow for larger gage wires and not suitable for purpose . Instuctions both in box and on web site DO NOT mention what to do about DOMETIC start capacitor . They only state if there is an extra red wire on the RUN capacitor to cut & tape . ?? they do not say red wire on start cap so u are left to quess > I just removed the start cap. . OVERALL good product would buy again . MAY update after running a few weeks in summer heat .
